I recently visited Fortview House while attending a wedding in Cavan and was very pleased with my stay. Catherine and Sean could not have been more accommodating, offering tea and coffee as soon as I arrived and going above and beyond by giving me a lift to the ceremony when they heard I was planning on getting a taxi. My room was nice and spacious with the bed being very comfortable and breakfast in the morning was a great start to my day. I could not have asked for kinder hosts and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

My family and I needed weekend accommodation for eight people. Fortview Bed and Breakfast was able to offer what we needed. Located just outside the main town of Cavan, but with Fortview itself and also a pub at the end of the road offering evening meals, it was ideal. The proprietors of Fortview, Catherine and Sean, were wonderfully welcoming, offering us immediate hospitality on arrival of tea/coffee and sandwiches/cakes. Because we were in Cavan for a funeral, we were out for most of the weekend, but the bedroom accommodation was excellent - warm, comfortable and clean and breakfast was delicious. Catherine and Sean were simply ideal hosts and went out of their way to provide us with everything we needed. Thank you, Catherine and Sean. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast accommodation.

Recently stayed in Fortview Bed and Breakfast. Catherine greeted us and showed us to our room. We were offered tea and coffee and had some homemade banana cake. Our room (number 2) was quite dated and there was a lot of dust around the sink area in the room. There was also a damp musty smell around the sink in the bedroom. Breakfast was ok. Would not need to return to this bnb and would question the standards of Board Failte approved accommodation.

Catherine and her husband were most welcoming, as was their home! The Irish breakfast was wonderful, and we have a full night's sleep in comfort. Catherine was very helpful to me, looking for long lost relations via phone tips. A wonderful family setting and a great start to our month in Ireland! I heartily recommend this B & B for a getaway, relaxation, and good food!

Fortview B&B is a rural pleasant place along a County Cavan country road. My wife and I stayed four day here and we had a wonderful time here in comfort and peace and quiet. The owners, Sean and Catherine went the extra mile and then some to make us as comfortable as possible. Hand cooked customized breakfasts were served in a wonderfully lit dinner room with opportunity to chat and share adventures with other guests. Tea available to us in our room or by the pot from our hosts. Catherine assisted me in the search for my ancestors, helped us find a place to stay for the summer and aided us at every turn! She and Sean are what we had in mind when we think about the warmth of the Irsih people. Central to County Cavan, minutes to several Restaurants and to Cavantown and the geneological center in Cavantown center. Perfect to launch outings to castles, fishing trips, church and graveyard visiting, Friary ruins with roundtowers, grand manors of the plantation period or to just soak up the beautiful wonders or bounce down the tiny lanes of the region, all with-in a days trip from this lovely B&B.

Was visiting family in the area and needed a place to stay. Came across the Fortview House B&B. The hostess and her family were gracious and warm. Room was nice with separate bathroom. Breakfast made to order at the time requested. Snacks, desserts, and teas for the evening. Needed to go pick up rental car for the town, so they took us to go get it and they arranged for the rental car. Also had suggestions for things to do in the area. Really enjoyed our stay at the B&B.

The guest house is not as sulubrious as one would expect but it is clean and the beds are very comfortable. The lady of the house will have a welcome for you second to none. Her husband is also a lovely person She makes her pwn jams and breads and is a farmhouse where the food is excellent. Accommodation is not modern but comfortable in a very friendly hoise

I stayed here in September with my brother and two sisters. We had the two downstairs en-suite rooms. The B&B is on a farm, in a lovely setting. Sean and Catherine are a warm and friendly couple. There is a pub nearby. The food was terrible, but the people were really nice!

We stayed here for one night in August - the room was spacious and comfortable with a large double bed and a single bed - suitable for 3 people. There was wifi in the room. There was no phone signal but that is the case (sadly) with the majority of rural areas in Ireland (not the homeowners fault, just the mobile companies that claim they cover 99% of the country but in fact don't). Breakfast was lovely and fresh with lots of tea and fresh toast!! Catherine couldn't have been nicer particularly as on e of my group didn't join us. Thank you Catherine. I would definitely stay here again
