Lovely clean hotel, really friendly staff and great rooms, some with sea view, immaculate pool area and nice bar area. Food is excellent and plenty of choices for all ages, the deserts are brilliant and snacks in between meals works really well. Girls at reception are super friendly and can't do enough for you from check in to check out and this is a great place for families and couples alike of all ages. There is a kids pool for todlers also. Couple of things would take this hotel to the next level. Option for all inclusive+ would be brilliant ad the beer is drinkable but not great and if you want bottles of beer you have to pay. Alpha or Mythos would be a big improvement on the beer on tap. Soft drinks are similar to value brands at your local supermarket and the red wine is terrible. Everyone was drinking the white as the red and rose weren't great. Coffee is instant from a machine and not great so if you like a nice coffee you will unfortunately be disappointed, its a shame there is no cafetiere or barista, authentic coffee. There was entertainment one night a week and is repeated if you go for 2 weeks. Entertainment every other night would be perfect. Really enjoyed our holiday and would definitely return, just wish the quality of the drinks matched the quality of everything else the hotel offers. Thank you for a lovely holiday! …
We have previously tended to stay with bigger hotels in Greece, but we were attracted to this one by the high standard of reviews being left on this site. So we took the plunge and booked 2 weeks with Dore Boutique Hotel and have just returned from that stay. So how did they compare against their bigger rivals? The answer, simply put, is they smashed it! We had a wonderful stay; a large, spacious, clean room with a beautiful sea view, air conditioning and a safe and fridge all included as standard. The all-inclusive food was excellent, with plenty of choice and great quality. The staff were all friendly and helpful; special mention to Kalliopi in the restaurant, Irini at the pool bar and all the team behind the scenes who made it run so well. You do need to claim your sunbed before 8:30ish if you want specific spots, but to be honest there are no bad spots anyway. Two weeks just flew by and we would gladly go again. Thank you everyone at Dore Boutique Hotel for making our stay so enjoyable. We hope to see you all again soon in the future.…
From the minute I got off the shuttle bus and walked into the hotel, I knew this was going to be a great trip. A clean, modern, minimal hotel, recently refurbished in 2019, ...so new, and convenient enough to the street and beach. Maria greeted us, and gave us the forms to check in. She then proceeded to show us to our room. We stayed in 315, the top floor with a balcony on the left side of the hotel. Good views with the sea in the distance. It was spacious, super clean, very comfortable bed (two twins put together to form a king) and pillows to choose from. Shampoo, shower gel, hand soap in the bathroom, w conditioner and body lotion on request. The food every day was buffet style and there was enough to choose from. Not too much was put out, and it was replenished often so always fresh. The service in the dining area was very attentive and I loved my morning chats with the servers. If I had to improve it, I'd recommend one 'made to order' dish (like omelettes or crepes) for breakfast and maybe one dinner night. During the day, we were at the pool. It's positioned so there isn't a bad spot to catch the midday sun. It wasn't heated though, but you quickly warm up after a few strokes. It was mid-Oct of course. On the 2 days it rained we relaxed in the foyer on some very comfortable sofas and read our books. Other times we hung out by the bar and played board games (which you can borrow from the bar). There was 2 nights of live entertainment in the bar area the week we were there. Some nights they streamed football, and the other nights we just chatted to other guests or relaxed by the fire-pit. The bar staff were fabulous. A lot of fun, chatty, attentive, and very generous with their measures of alcohol. The variety of drinks on the AI package was more than adequate and I thoroughly enjoyed making my way through the cocktail list. I highly recommend this hotel not only for the location (just down the steps, cross the street, and your at the beach) but the service, cleanliness and quality of everything. I'd go back there in a heartbeat, if I were visiting Chania again.…
We stayed here at the end of October and was our first time in Greece. The hotel was amazing - the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were very helpful, we got the bus into the town (about 20 mins) which was a great day trip to do. The old town had lovely shops to buy souvenirs and restaurants to eat by the harbour. We also walked up to the harbour and lighthouse which had great views. The food was fantastic, there was such a huge variety that catered for everyone. Even though it was buffet, it was small enough that you never felt rushed and it was never busy when everyone went up. Each night had a theme (Mexican, Italian, chinese etc) but there was also staples like spaghetti, chips and salad. The puddings were amazing and there was so much to choose from. It was also great to have snacks in between each me and the popcorn machine was fab. There was a big variety of drinks including a long list of cocktails included in the all incisive and the bar staff and waiters and waitresses were so helpful and kind throughout. The rooms were very clean and spacious and our balcony was great to dry clothes and play cards on in the evening. There was also a safe, dressing gowns and slippers. There was no rush for sunbeds in the morning so we never felt like we had to get up early to reserve one. The floor by the pool did sometimes get slippy when water splashed onto it so would bare in mind, also half of the sun beds were on the grassy area which sometimes got a bit muddy/slippy again when water splashed on to it. This wasn’t a major problem. The pool was very cold, but after a few times you got used to it and it was nice to cool down after sunbathing. There were quite a few cats around the hotel (including two adorable tiny ginger kittens) which was a highlight for us. They are very tame and come in and out of the pool area and around the complex. It was lovely to see them playing about! Our flight home wasn’t until 9pm, so the hotel staff let us stay in the room until our transfer at 6pm with no extra charge and no issues. This was so helpful and really appreciated. Overall, we had such a great time and would definitely recommend this hotel. It has something for everyone and we had a great time.…
What a lovely hotel. A real gem. My family we’re looking for a small hotel for a relaxing holiday. The Dore was perfect! Immaculately clean and although it was the last week of the season, their standards were impeccable. Best of all was the food. Amazing variety and always something new. Deserts to die for. Easy access on the bus to wonderful Chania and beach a short walk away. Hotel itself is tucked away. An oasis of calm. Thank you for making our stay so fabulous. Staff are a credit to the hotel 😊
The hotel staff are fabulous, very attentive and considerate to the needs of my travelling group. They went above and beyond expectations in ensuring that our stay was nothing but fantastic. They catered for the older person as well as the young children. The beach is not far but a steep incline to get to it if you have mobility issues but with a slow walk it is possible. The food was delicious and fresh. New inventive meals every evening and sustainable in reusing items where they could to make new dishes to save on food waste. The beverages were refreshing and always served quickly. The pool area and pool were clean and well kept. Always sun loungers to be used and towels can be rented for a fee. Inflatables at the pool so that you don't need to bring your own. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with all necessary amenities to hand, the cleaners did a good job and always changed and tidied the beds and put fresh linen and towels out. The reception staff were friendly and informative, always on hand to help, nothing was too much trouble. The best customer service we have experienced in a hotel ever!…
The hotel is amazing the staff are so friendly and helpful we had a small issue with room and it was dealt with immediately. Food was amazing 5⭐️ Only issue was the cats the grassed area had cat poo on it. I think hotel should ask guest’s not too feed cats in hotel grounds. Still give it 5⭐️
Such a perfect hotel. The staff are the politest I’ve ever met, friendly and do anything to help. The food is great. My daughter is a fussy eater and she has eaten so well every day and we had breakfast, lunch and dinner so no complaints there. My son loves trying new foods and again that was available. Cuttlefish was new to us booth. Also the amount of seafood available in the dishes was great. Great salad / cold food section at every sitting. Now I’m not a dessert person but they are amazing. I found myself having a couple each day. The drinks choices are the best I’ve ever had at an All Inclusive hotel. A lot of Branded drinks were included and a very good range of cocktails. You never got bored at the bar. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed from mini fridge to the tea and coffee station. Loads of storage and a nice size balcony. This hotel has not disappointed in any part of our stay. We will definitely be back again. …
I was very impressed with this hotel it is very difficult to find fault! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety each day. I especially loved the salads and grilled meats but there was a good selection of hot food too. I especially enjoyed the creamy chicken, chilli con carne and gyros. There was a fantastic dessert selection each day too, something for everyone. The room was lovely, comfy beds, lovely and clean. Even though our room was considered a garden view we still had a nice view of the sea and could hear the waves from our balcony. Our room was cleaned every day we were there too. The pool area was very nice so it was unfortunate that the weather wasn’t so good for most of our time there but the sun got out on our 2nd to last day and we spent some time on the sun loungers with cocktails which was lovely. The pool was a little too cold for us but I think it’s because the sun hadn’t been out for a few days and couldn’t be helped. It didn’t stop other people from going in though. The hotel is a short walking distance to the main street with lots of shops and restaurants. It’s about 3-4 mins walk if you exit at the back of the hotel behind the pool. There is also a bus stop right at the exit onto the main street which takes you into Chania for around €3. I highly recommend this, it’s only 15 mins on the bus and if you head down towards the old Venetian harbour there are lots of little winding streets with boutiques and fabulous restaurants and bars. Simply stunning. The hotel is occupied by a family of cats which personally I loved, they were very friendly and entertaining but something to maybe be aware of if you have allergies. If I was being forced to nit pick, the only things I would improve on would be that it would be nice to see a menu for the evening meals posted somewhere beforehand so if it wasn’t to our liking we could make other arrangements (we enjoyed our meal every night though), the cocktails which were included in the all inclusive were nice but quite samey, also most were stirred cocktails not shaken. Lastly, there was no real evening entertainment. This didn’t bother us as they had games behind the bar to borrow and a pool table in the bar which was €2 to play. Personally I think if you are a hotel that doesn’t really have entertainment then at least the pool table should be free. But that’s all I could possibly critique at this fab hotel.…
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Great for all ages. The food options and quality for all meals are amazing and the puddings are incredible! Excellent drinks menu options for the all inclusive, with cocktails and spirits included. The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and shops nearby. Short bus/car journey away from Chania where there’s lots of shops. The staff were amazing and worked extremely hard. We did unfortunately get some bad weather but that’s expected with the time of year. The pool is clean and well kept but absolutely freezing and may benefit from some heating? Even when glorious sun, it’s still very cold. We found the sea to be a lot warmer than the pool. Plenty of sun loungers. Some lovely live music on an evening. The tv in the bar area also plays football with no sound. There is a popcorn machine in the bar area on an evening which is a great touch. There is a lovely towel robe and slippers in the room which is a great addition to the room. Good aircon, comfy bed. Our room was close to the restaurant and bar, which meant it was quite noisy. We didn’t mind this as we like to be close to amenities but can see why this may be a problem for other people? Our balcony door broke but we informed reception and they quickly resolved the issue.…
