Bill and Edith really make this hotel. The rooms/cabanas are quite basic but very clean. Edith takes such good care of you at breakfast - makes you feel as though you are part of the family. And Bill makes an excellent tour guide - he's a great story teller. Thoroughly enjoyed our time on Rapa Nui in no small part... More

Just a quick shout out for Edith and Bill's hospitality. Breakfast served every morning - with authentic Island fruits and basics. Both of the hosts were available 8 to 5 - to help you with information. Bill did an all day tour that showed off the Island with all of it's rich history. The hotel is quaint - no air... More

We had 4 days here in October 2016. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Bill and Edith were most welcoming and knowledgeable. We took a couple of sightseeing trips with Bill and also had other interesting and informative chats with him over our few days. The rooms are basic but very clean and well cared for by housekeeping and ours... More

Edith and crew are the epitome of welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very clean and the breakfasts delicious. The location is ideal. It is right in town near restaurants, markets, car rental and an easy walk to the coast.

Edith and Bill were charming and very kind during our stay at Taura'a. On arrival Bill drove us for a small tour of the town telling us the best restaurants and where to find the closest moai, the post office to get a stamp on our passports and the banks. The room was spacious enough and breakfast yummy. Moreover, Edith... More

My friend and I stayed for a week at the Taura'a in late October. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! By American standards, it might be considered a bit "spartan" because the room did not have television or landline telephone, but I didn't miss them one bit. The rooms were clean, comfortable, cozy, and we could always rely... More

I just returned from six nights on Easter Island, all of which I spent at the Tauraa Hotel. The staff was very helpful in advance of my arrival in providing information about airport pickup/return as well as tour and rental car options. The hotel's location is very central, which is a big convenience in terms of dinner and shopping access.... More

We stayed in room #3 for two nights in early September. The room was charming, clean and comfortable except for one thing - the ceiling fan made such a loud mechanical noise that it was completely unusable. We were comfortable with the windows cracked except for a couple hours in the late afternoon sun which made the room quite hot.... More

Taura'a is located in a prime spot on Atamu Tekena, the main street in Hanga Roa. While Hanga Roa is not large as far as population goes (about 6000 inhabitants?), it is pretty spread out and getting around on foot is possible but often not practical (this is not an issue of you plan to rent a car). This is... More

We stayed here last week for three nights and had an absolutely wonderful time! Bill and Edith are very welcoming and friendly, with lots of knowledge and tips about the area. Edith helped us avoid a rained-out horseback tour (suggesting we reschedule for the afternoon instead of toughing it out!) and the day after we took a tour of the... More
