Well located place for visiting Kilkenny, in a beatifull place next to the Barrow river for practising Kayak. Really lovely place for spending 2 nights at least. Caroline takes care of you in the homemade breakfast which it's excelent. Lovely Caroline, thanks a millions!!
Our visit for my birthday last year was cancelled because b&bs and hotels got closed down due to the pandemic, so at the first opportunity I got rebooked for this year. Carol, the owner was waiting for us on arrival and we were given tea and scones then shown to our rooms. The beds were comfy and the rooms were cosy and clean, each has tv and tea & coffee provided. For breakfast there is juice, cereal and yoghurt to start, with toast and tea or coffee, followed by a full Irish fry, or you can opt for something simpler like poached eggs on toast. Barrow View b&b is down a quiet side road so there is not too much traffic noise and you will get a good night's sleep. It is located only 200m from Ballytiglea Bridge which gives access to the River Barrow towpath for long walks (in the direction of Goresbridge one way or Graiguenamanagh in the other). Restaurants and pubs are 5 minutes away by car in the village of Borris or 10 mins to Graiguenamanagh. It is an ideal base for touring the area - Kilkenny and Carlow are about half an hour away and Waterford and Wexford about an hour. It's well worth staying here if you're in this part of Ireland.…
We stayed here on a short break when b&bs were allowed to reopen after the covid-19 lockdown had ended. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by Carol the owner and treated to tea and homemade scones and buns. The rooms were warm and the beds comfy. Breakfast was substantial enough to set us up for a day's walking on The Barrow Way and Forth Mountain. Brandon Hill is next on our list. There is a bright conservatory for guests to use in summer and a cosy sitting room for when the weather is not so good. In the garden there are several table/chair sets where guests can relax in their own space. In addition to the rooms in the main house there is a small cabin which offers complete privacy for up to four people. The setup is complete with a very friendly dog and two cats, who are well used to strangers and won't bother you in any way. A very homely b&b, we're glad we found it and we've already booked a return later in the year.…
I booked Barrow View B & B out for the eve of my wedding. Carol was absolutely brilliant hostess. The rooms were perfect in regards cleanliness, comfort and a very quiet and peaceful location. Breakfast was fab and Carol made time to have a chat to all the guests and made everyone feel more than welcome, nothing was too much bother at all. Before leaving for church the next day Carol done a lovely spread - it was like home away from home. Would highly recommend a stay to anyone. Thank you Carol for starting my wedding day of perfect. We were welcomed by Caroline the owner with a tray of tea, coffee and biscuits. We stayed in the log cabin in the garden which was very well decorated, central heated and the beds very comfortable. The full irish breakfast and scrambled eggs was lovely each morning. There was also a good variety of cereals on offer. Nothing was too much trouble for Caroline who made time to chat to us each morning. Would definetely recommend a stay. Ann-Marie and Nan.
