A typical country pub in a small market town set in lovely countryside. It has not been tarted up in any way, yet the style is to my liking and the owners make a visitor very welcome. The regular customers are extremely friendly. My room, a twin but I was alone, had one of the most comfortable beds I have...

Stayed here for a night while working in the area. My selection was based on price. Happy to have a shared bathroom... Room was at the front of the hotel and there was a fair amount of noise from the road but to be honest I got used to it and it didnt stop me sleeping. Went for a couple...

Fantastic traditional English Pub, small but great atmosphere inside. They have sky sports as well so you can watch football games. Will definitely be coming back. A breath of fresh air for sure. They don't do food though.

Booked this as a central point to visit Longleat and the Costwolds. Arrived on the Friday as a family of three (two adults one almost two year old). Were checked in via a busy local pub and shown to the smallest double room I have ever seen. No travel cot provided despite booking with our son. Music from the pub...

I recently stayed for three weeks as I was working in Faringdon. I found the rooms to be clean and tidy I was allowed to bring takeaways back and eat them in the pub and use the microwave to heat food up. Ideal pub if your working away and don't want to spend a fortune. The landlord and his family...

We very nearly did. Drove passed and thought it looked "tired". Glad we didn't pass it by. It turned out to be just what we wanted, nice friendly atmosphere, the landlords made us very welcome and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms were clean and tea and coffee provided. At night it was a bit noise when the pub was...

we stopped here recently ,to be fair it was not bad , but the place needs a bit of work to uprate it,one toilet and washing facilities for three rooms is not good, all rooms face the road so can be noisy, the bed in our room had loose joints ,and I was afraid to move at night in case it broke,the...

I stayed over for one night! Thank god it was one night. The landlord is nice enough but the room wasn't. Shown to a double room which had no sink and the bathroom was down the corridor. Room was dirty. TV remote was dirty and looked like someone had had their dinner off it. There's was dirt in the corners...

Torn between 3 and 4 points for this because what is good is very good but some things are not so good. I agree with the previous reviewer, you get what you pay for and therefore it is good value for money. On the plus side, the landlord and family are lovely, friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is excellent....
