The owners of Le Zinzin are very nice but the accommodation was a very poor standard and managed by another person/company. After getting a key in security box we found the room was not cleaned properly. We were booked for 5 nights but the room was not cleaned or towels not changed after 4 days so we left for alternative accommodation. We would not use the dirty cups or kettle in the room. The shower had not been cleaned when we arrived. Unfortunately Le Zinzin restaurant & bar was not open for business while we stayed there. The location is really nice beside the beach but I will never return here. I do not recommend the accommodation. Less than hostel standard.
Don't let the first impression fool you. Grand Bois seems like a detoriated small town and the Zinzin is located in an outskirt, so the first impression is, 'where the hell have we landed?' But look further. The rooms are good, the bathroom even better and there is a good bar around the corner. The host and his father are very nice guys and I liked the music they play. That and the view on the heavy sea made it a good stay. Now eating is another point. Despite what different websites and maps say, there is only one working restaurant nearby. Again, don't let first impressions fool you. "Chez Tiluc" served me the best meals we had against the best price and a few shots on the side. All in al I hade a very good time there.
The location is stunning: the waves are right at your door step. The room we had is rather small and has a fridge and a kettle. Otherwise there are no cooking facilities or a restaurant. It is a pity that there is no breakfast offered at the panoramic bar. The room was a bit damp and we had lots of rain every night which was very noisy on the corrugated iron roof. However the host was really friendly and helpful and made up for the few disadvantages. Being right at the ocean was amazing.
