What a wonderful find for our short break near Complete. After an easy drive from Calais we were pleased to find such a peaceful place to stay. We were made very welcome on arrival and shown to our room which was wonderful, typically French, scrupulously clean and comfortable. The small town of Pierrefo do was in easy reach by either... What a lovely house, beautifully decorated and retaining all its old charm. The owners are both very welcoming, our room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. This is definitely worth a visit .

I chose this charming accommodation as we were travelling with my German Shepherd to visit the Chateau and it was the only dog friendly place. What a find. It is a lovely place to stay, lovingly restored by the owners into a lovely home where visitors feel very welcome. Unfortunately, we arrived late as we had a 5 hour delay... More

Spent a very nice and relaxing weekend based at 'L'Ermitage' with family of four in their spacious upstairs family room. Nothing fancy, but all was tasteful, clean and thought-through, down to bottles of water for everyone. Very decent room rate with breakfast which was ample and fresh. Sweet hospitality by the owners, with a delicate informative touch, e.g. nice tips... More

The house was amazing, situated on the edge of the forest with a fine view across some fields where the deer came in the evenings. Our hosts were very kind and helpful, especailly when we arrived late due to getting lost and a puncture. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had breakfast in a large dining room with a... I was taken here for my 50th birthday and it was just lovely. Nestled in the countryside surrounded by forest, it was a treat! Elisabeth was a lovely hostess, very friendly and helpful and served a great breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, croissants. Rooms were a decent size, not luxurious but clean and with lovely view over to the... More

What a fabulous place to stay. As many others have said, this is no 'cookie cutter' hotel. It is a French Delight! No keys, fabulous rooms (if you like old wooden floors, french windows and ambience), comfortable beds and friendly hosts. Breakfast is great! Fresh fruits followed by a 'bread fest"! Beautiful baguettes and a range of croissants with beautiful... More

Great house, nicely decorated and very friendly hosts in a lovely area, good food in the local town set by the lake and overlooked by the chateau. Not an all mod cons soulless modern hotel so if you want waal to wall widescreen TV etc then not for you, but a very relaxing typically French house tastefully decorated with loads... More

A beautiful house in a beautiful location, run by lovely, kind and gentle people. It's not a hotel with a spa, swimming pool, 24 hour room service, 86 TV stations in 42 languages, no nightclub, no restaurant or bar, no room safe, no bath robes and slippers. If you want the above look elsewhere, but if you want a feeling... More

Please ignore previous 'adequate' review. This is not a Novotel and doesn't profess to be one, thank goodness. If you want TV's, lifts and wall to wall carpeting then this is not the place for you. Instead this is a fabulous example of a French country house lovingly restored with great attention to detail. The rooms (I have stayed in... More
