Great stay in Willow yurt for 5 nights with our 6yr old and 4yr old. Kids loved the yurt, and the space to run around and explore outside. We loved the setting and the relaxation. Great location; near enough to the coast and good for walking, picturesque villages and good pubs. Also well located for Diggerland, which the children (and...

Check our our Facebook feeds for Blackdown Yurts and our sister company Halsbeer Farm (holiday cottages). We often post discounts for places, including 25% off at Diggerland til 30.10.16. We also regularly post features about great places to visit nearby. Our children Mia and Felix (8 and 6) are writing their own blog "Mia and Felix's Fun Days Out" on...

Blackdown Yurts had been recommended to us by a friend after staying there last year. We stayed in Willow with our 6 year old and 2 year old girls. The facilities were basic but fantastic, we were grateful for the hot showers and the flushing toilets in the barn. The kitchen in the barn was brilliant for breakfast and would...

Thank you. We are always looking out for ways to improve and making the beds softer is on our list! As is tarting up the showers a bit over winter ready for next season. Thanks for your feedback.

We had a great time staying in Woodpecker Yurt for 5 nights. A very simple holiday but without all the stresses of camping (other than the weather, which thankfully was in our favour this week!). Everything we needed was provided for us, even a proper italian coffee pot, bottle opener and tealights. Our kids aged 3 and 6 loved the...

We found the place on internet ten a morning searching intensely for an alternative place to stay in devon, we were going to be there only for two days and most places were booked or not available for a short stay. Katie very kindly prepared us the yurt. Is really a beautiful place for all kinds of get aways, and...

We were visiting nearby Altitude Festival for the weekend and decided to forego the camping for a bit of luxury. We were not disappointed. We stayed in "Willow" yurt for 2 nights and were totally smitten with the spacious 4 berth yurt which was more than adequate for the two of us. We found everything we needed, including a very...

Boy, was it wet that weekend, but glad it didn't dampen your spirits! We love our little wood-burning stoves, locally made by the Windy Smithy who was also exhibiting at Altitude. Can't wait for next year. Come back and visit us soon. It was lovely to meet you.

Simply perfect! Incredibly beautiful rural location, fantastic views and space for the kids to roam free, very comfortable yurt (Badger), kids absolutely loved it! Great to have wood burner and plenty of fire lighters, kindling and wood for the weekend. The communal facilities are perfect - simple and very functional, plenty of fridge space, cutlery, hot showers and a huge...

We had a great family weekend to celebrate a 70th birthday - wonderful country location with lots of space for the kids to enjoy themselves. The yurts - four of them - provide good accommodation with everything you need. The barn is great for all the family to get together to around a log fire after eating together - 15...

We love having big groups to stay whether celebrating a birthday, hen party, anniversary, stag do or just a jolly good knees up for no particular reason. It makes us happy to make people happy. If you are after something a bit more refined than the yurts for a gathering, check out our cottages at Halsbeer Farm which also sleep...

Luckily there is a perfect alternative. Halsbeer Farm has a selection of cottages close to the farm house. Five of us plus two dogs stayed in the Hay Barn. There was plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms (4 en-suites !) and plenty to do. The kids (15 & 13) were happy with the pool (indoors and warm), the games room...

Thanks for your lovely review. We do now have our Trip Advisor listing live for the cottages following a few teething problems. They, like the yurts, are a great place for a small party or a larger gathering - we have Apple (sleeps 3), Cider and Swallow (each sleeps 6) and Hay (7) giving a combined total of 22. At...

We stayed in the Woodpecker Yurt on end-March 2016! We arrived after sunset on the first day and my advice is to arrive to the site when there is still light! Since it is a rural site, there were no lights, roads feel pretty narrow at night, and it was quite hard to organise our belongings in the pitch dark...

We are so glad you had a great time, you were one of our first groups since taking over Blackdown Yurts on 21st March 2016. Thanks for your feedback - in particular about lighting. We will look at improving the lighting around the site to make it easier to find your way around. The yurts have one solar panel each...

Fantastic set up. Loved every minute of our stay here and have every intention to go back. Laid back, well thought out group of 4 yurts. Each has a little camp kitchen and space for kids to play plus a fire pit and BBQ. Lots of young families staying - kids roamed free. Barn has bigger indoor kitchen area, sofas...

“Buzzard has the best views but is difficult to access if you have disabilities and or mobility issues as there is a steep climb. the other yurts are at a low level and are near to parking and the field kitchen plus a large filed for the kids to run around. be careful following satnav instructions it will lead you the wrong way. its just off the Cullompton Junction on the M5 and Tesco is just the other side of the motorway junction.”
