Where should I begin. We wanted to get a hot shower and leave again. And we showered, and showered, and one day turned two, two became four and in no time we had a WWOFing place and stayed one month. This place is very underrated! We arrived and thought we are in a sort of botanic garden, because there are...

It's great to be able to stop here in the wintermonths, and in the summermonths I am sure. There is a large dining/lounge area with a fire going all day. You need to get close to the fire to get a bit warm though but hey there's a fire ^^. Free internet 24/7 which is pretty decent as well. Everything...

The hostel is in a lovely location at the end of a road in Ahipara. The 90 mile beach is a stone's throw away - less than 10 minutes walk. Despite the reception stocking basic comestibles - generally preserved/tinned food, the efforts made on such a matter are commendable. There are a few community shops a walk away that stock...

One thing is for sure, I have found that in the Summer in New Zealand, it rains! I was in a campervan and was woken at 4 in the morning with the sound of pouring rain. The very nice German gentleman told me he had discovered his tent was waterproof, it didn't let the water out. It was very very...

After completing a 90-mile Beach trek it was s welcome relief to stay a couple of nights at this place. It was quiet, cheap $25+ for YHA members, had adequate cooking facilities, laundry. Front desk even sells basic groceries, including beer and delicious cider. Note, that hostelling is not what they primarily gear towards. It's a caravan park near a...

We just spent one night here, and My back was happy about that. The beds weren't comfy at all, The matress was rather like a hammock. But still, the Staff was very friendly, The kitchen Big enough and finally a Big carpark. The 90 Mile Beach is just around the corner which is really nice :)

There is literally no reason at all to visit this hostel. There is nothing to do in Ahipara or a twenty mile radius once the novelty of being a prohibitively long walk from 90 Mile Beach has subsided. The hostel was empty so I got a good night's sleep, but I didn't go travelling to have wet dreams. Average facilities...

Stayed here recently while hiking thru New Zealand. Beautiful, well-maintained and clean facilities. Lovely grounds with tropical flowers. Super nice staff. Be sure to bring your own food and drinks to Ahipara as its a very small coastal town.

This a great hostel in a lovely setting. Stayed in a simple cabin that was very clean and tidy and great value for money. 10 min walk from start of 90 beach and a great base to travel round northland from.
