We stayed here for about week as this was a convenient base to explore the southern section of the Kruger Park. The chalets were comfortable but not fancy; they were cleaned regularly and did have basic equipment. Elephant Walk Retreat is not far from Komatipoort which has good shops. The kitchen equipment should include containers which could be used in... More

We stayed two nights with two friends and it was great. Spacious chalet with common kitchen outside that you share with the other chalet. It was super nice to have a view on the park and we saw a few animals from our terrace. We enjoyed the swimming pool the day we arrived and as it was very hot it... More

We love this lodge a lot because it is right on the bank of the Crocodile River and we always see animals just sitting on our balcony. This time we have been there just 15 minutes when we spotted an elephant not too far from the camp over the other side of the fence. Then, when we were busy taking... More

Spent a stunning weekend here for my birthday. The owners are very accommodating and helpful. The stunning cabin has a spectacular view of the crocodile river, we were able to see animals and were close enough to the entrance of the Kruger Park to go out everyday. The outside kitchen on our balcony was amazing in offering us our privacy.... More

Amazing view of river with elephant, buffalo and hippo grazing 3 meters from the log cabin we stayed in. Hyena visiting every night. Lots of birds, including fish eagles on your door step! Easy to find. Crocodile bridge entrance to Kruger park 10 meters from front gate. Self catering. Friendly staff, clean and well equipped log cabin. Brick cabins also... More

What a lovely hidden gem! On arrival we were greeted by Buffaloes grazing right next to our wooden chalet. The kids just loved the place. It was clean and most comfortable. Absolutely stunning views of the river and we had hippo , elephant etc and losts of bird species to entertain us everyday. The resident hyenas patrol the fence every... More

Breakfast and dinner on a stoop overlooking the Crocodile River, and immediate access to the Crocodile River entrance to the Kruger. Every night and every morning there was something amazing just over the fence: cape buffalo, elephant, hippo... Chalet was rustic but comfortable, the grounds were beautifully kept, and there was a very nice and well-maintained swimming pool. Staff were... More

We stayed here one night before sticking up and going to Swaziland. It is conveniently placed just outside the crocodile bridge entrance to Kruger where you can view all animals just inside the main gate we saw; giraffe, hippos, elephants, impala, wildernesses, zebra rhino and lots of birds within 14k of entering the park. Comfortable rooms and of course the... More

My wife myself and our teenage son stayed at Elephant Walk Retreat over the Easter weekend. We stayed in the "basic" Ingwenyama unit which was not basic at all. It had an airconditioner, fridge, microwave and two very comfortable beds. There was a lovely patio with a clean braai which overlooked the river. After reading about a couple of negative... More

We stayed in one of the big huts, it had nice furniture inside and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also saw elephants right in front of our cabin, and some monkeys eating mangos, roaming around. Luckily our air conditioning was working very well as we had over 40 degrees outside. One needs only 2 minutes with the car... More
