When booking a three bedroom unit you are automatically upgraded to a four bedroom duplex unit. These units are situated at the top of the very steep property, and are accessed by leaving the resort and re-entering through a private gate. There are steps down to the hotel but are so steep that they are only for the fittest. To...

Hole in the wall is a great place to visit. We had a problem in out unit B01, we had the kitchen tap leak water the entire weekend which flooded the kitchen every day. This could not be repaired during our 4 night stays which made it difficult to make use of the kitchen in a self catering place.

The pictures on the Hole in the Wall website depict a very clean neat and tidy living arrangement, however this was not the case as we had experienced. We were initially allocated a 3 bedroom chalet unit 23 which was terribly damn smelling, and had filthy looking stains on the walls. the bath/shower facilities were definitely not up to standard....

Lovely resort, excellent location walking distance to the hole in the wall. Lovely restaurant at which we enjoyed supper. A bit of a tiring drive to get to...only 97km from Mthata but takes close to 2 hours. Short dirt road from coffee bay to the resort...possible to do by car but advisable to have 4wd especially if it rains as...

If you're thinking of visiting and you've got a front wheel drive vehicle and you're planning on towing a trailer, think again or save up for a 4x4. The road up to Coffee Bay was surprisingly very good, best part up to Mthatha it's actually excellent and very picturesque. From Coffee Bay the last part is manageable without anything in...

The holiday village has very nice houses in african village style. Located just next to the beach the houses have good equipment and more than enough space. To the Whole-in-the-Wall-Rock itself you need 10 minutes to walk. Breakfast is great over there.

Self catering rustic thatch cottages are fully equipped. There is a small store but it is better to bring all your food supplies that you will be needing with you on the trip.
