Messinia and Pylos specific, is a wonderful region. Appart from the mega luxus hotels in the vicinity, there not so many "ordinary people" hotel. We visited Karalis City Hotel during the Navarino Sea Battle festivities and it was a great experience. Amazing view to Pilos city and harbor, recently renovated room, spacious clean and ergonomic bathroom, big tv, real life hair dryer and a very good breakfast buffet. So, highly recommended if you want to live near the city of Pilos and explore this amazing region.
A nicely positioned hotel, polite and friendly staff, near to restaurants and coffee bars. Breakfast was superb and could be eaten in or outside. Parking is in a large car park in front of the hotel, which is on the harbour side.
needs more responsible reception staff. I had a reservation saved and confirmed a month ago and a week before the trip they send me two e.mails every other day for reconfirmation, which go to the spam folder and I don't see them. the day before the trip I call and find out that I don't have a reservation. a hotel with an 8.7 rating on booking.com cannot work so unprofessionally! they could at least call me on the phone!
Doing a tour of Greece using 2 and 3 star hotels. Karalis is by far the best I have seen during this tour. Nice, modern and spacious room. Very nice bathroom with lots of space, walk-in rain shower, beds are good, struggling to find any fault while going through the room. Maybe the shower curtain should be replaced by a door to make it perfect.
Broken elevators, dark staircase and inattentive staff makes this a poor choice. You can do better in the area for the price.Breakfast was ok room a bit outdated. The bathroom while large has a high step in tub with shower which is a bit difficult to use especially if you are older or handicapped.
We stayed with my family in room #107. The location is ideal, near the center. The breakfast was quite good and finally the staff was very polite. But the negative was the toilet window faces the rest of the room. Wtf??? I really do not have to note anything else... Tragic
The hotel is in a nice location, in the centre of Pylos and overlooking the Navarino bay. Our room was average (smallish) size and had a ‘businesslike’ style. The staff were nice and polite. Parking was available across the street. The main issue we had was that we visited in the middle of a heatwave and the air conditioner kept switching itself off in the middle of the night. The first night we woke up from the heat twice and switched it back on. We realized the 2hrs issue but when we tried to change the setup it required a password we did not have. The next morning we reported the issue to the receptionist who was unaware of this and reset the system reassuring us it should now be fine. It was not and we had a repeat of the previous night. There was a new lady at reception the next morning who offered us some lame excuses and accusing us we had it at 20oC instead of the recommended 23oC. I tried to explain to her that we indeed had it at 23oC but even if we had it at 30 it would not have made any difference. She said she would “inform”. Not sure what that meant… I believe assuming a hotel room with a working air conditioner is not unreasonable. I also expect that a decent hotel would have sent someone in the room to fix it after the first complaint. I would neither stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.…
We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The room and bathroom are modern, comfortable and well equipped.Towels and toiletries were replaced each day. Location of the hotel is great as just a short walk from the main square where all the shops, bars and restaurants are located. The rooms had a large balcony with great views across the harbour. Plenty of parking nearby. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was good and the normal buffet service had been adapted to comply with current restrictions. Reception staff very friendly and provided helpful information on local places of interest and restaurant recommendations. We also had a nice treat near the end of our stay when a bottle of wine and a selection of local cheeses were left in our room for us to enjoy.# Would definitely stay at this hotel again if we ever revisit Pylos .…
The hotel is located in the city center, a few hundred meters from the main square. Common areas of the hotel are a bit weird, very dark, and a bit messy but that's not too big of a deal. Our temperature was checked twice during our stay (COVID-19). We booked a Family Room which consists of two communicating rooms. They were spacious, well furnished, and relatively modern. Both rooms have a balcony where you can enjoy the sunset over the port. Nespresso coffee in both rooms. Breakfast was served as a buffet in some kind of banquet hall. Since we travelled during the COVID pandemic, the staff was serving us on trays and we could eat inside or go on the terrace outside across the street. Breakfast quality was average. A bit pricey. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
Nice hotel, clean, modern, good breakfast selection, nice view, a bit clinical for my taste... but still I can’t see why I would t give 5 stars to it. A fault with a spot light in the room, I made a complaint in the morning, it was fixed straight away
