The Maples is a very nice place to stay in for a ski trip in Niseko Excellent location in middle-upper hirafu extremely helpful and polite staff easily access of convenient store and drug store (just on the opposite side of the street) although there is no in-house onsen, but there is one just next to it

6 of us stayed for 7D6N. Great view from the apartment. We booked the ski view and were put on the 5/F. Can't complain much about the apartment. Front desk staff was not up to standard unfortunately. Not the friendliest bunch. Ski on and out is awesome. Ski room is bar none. Really good location. Improvements, if you offer shuttle to Annupuri or MaxValu at Kutchan that would be awesome. Chalet Ivy across the street offers that. Downside, no bath tub. No onsen. I would still recommend Maples to friends but would love to see the improvements being looked at. Thanks

Dear philipfH1821UK, Thank you for your feedback We have been in line with our advertisement, that the Maples Niseko does not have Onsen/bathtub facilities. However, Onsen option is available during walking distance from Maples Niseko. It is very close by next door We are sorry that you found our service desk is not up to your expectation, we will pass this to our training manager for any improvement and we shall pass your feedback to management about the extensions drive Please kindly check our sister properties called Kozue and Terrazze that they are included personalized concierge services which they will be on standby for you for such drives request Regards Loren

I cannot believe the Maples are taking the safety of the customer as last priority. We were there end of FEB, 2020 and suddenly the Japanese govt declare Hokkaido in the state of emergency during our stay.  The hotel shorten the operation hours immediately to protect their staff. We are experiencing extreme stress given the rapidly change and the poor handling with the princess cruise situation in Yokohoma. So, we decide to leave a day early.  We asked the hotel for a refund or credit stay for future. The management say the situation wasn't too bad, and the attitude from the front desk manager was rude. Many hotels are waiving to all the change in this situation. It is because they care about the safety of the customers and their reputation. Extremely disappointed.

Dear Paulchan814, Thank you for your feedback We would like to take this opportunity to explain the changes in operation hours. There is a couple of day notice beforehand and the DOB is from 1st March which Niseko resort has entered the Spring operation hours. Fret not that even though it is a limited front desk service hour we are giving guest services a number one priority via staff standby 24hrs still which we believed it is clearly stated in the letter that is given to all guest in the house About the Yokohama incident with Hokkaido the state of emergency, this is an irrelevant case. However, if it shall create huge uncomfortable distress that leads to cutting short a day travel trip. It is the individual decision that is not related to the Maples Niseko stays We are sorry that you found our booking T&C is majorly strict as we have stated that in our reservation email before the guest makes the deposit / full payment to confirm the stay with us. We do also highly recommend guest to purchase travel insurance in case such inconvenience incident happened during the trip Regards NISADE Management Team

Great location, ski in ski out and personalised shuttle service around Hirafu. Our room has 2 bedrooms and plenty of space. The kitchen well equipped. Modern decoration. Everything was clean and new. We love the apartment. There is also a Rhythm counter at the hotel lobby which is an added convenience. The maples is also very near ski schools and just next to the Family Run. The dry room and the lockers are new and well maintained. Good room, good service and good location. I love everything about it.

The Maples was located around the middle of upper Hirafu Village amidst restaurants and shops. The nearest supermarket, Hirafu 88, was just across the road. Lower Hirafu Village's restaurants were also within walking distance albeit further which was not an issue because complimentary car lift was provided before 10:00 PM to and from restaurants within the Hirafu Village. The best part was that it was a true ski-out and ski-in unlike Ki Niseko which I stayed in previously, a ski-in, but not a ski-out because you had to walk out to the nearest ski lift which was located on higher grounds. The staff at The Maples were responsive and friendly, which really helped when assistance was needed. The studio apartment on the 6th floor was spacious and well-appointed with a fantastic view of the ski slopes and trees - I kept the blinds drawn open at all times and woke up with the sunrise; it was just so irresistibly beautiful especially after a snowfall which was quite regular in Niseko. Loved the absolutely no-hands toilet, which had a sensor-activated cover, heated seat, and cleaning, drying and self-flushing features. The portable air humidifier was much appreciated because the heating was extremely drying. Unfortunately, the apartment was not cleaned everyday, so had to make my own bed and clean after myself for 2 days before the cleaning service was scheduled. There were no hand towels; the face towels doubled up as hand towels. Also, for some reason, The Maples being a higher end accommodation, no hand or skin moisturiser was provided. As it was extremely dry and cold - bring plenty of your own if proned to skin dryness due to the weather. The ski room was conveniently located at the basement floor and opened out onto the ski slope. There was no ski valet, so had to take care of my own gears with an allocated ski locker which was fine because it was not like a ski valet would help me wear my ski boots. Ski room was well laid-out with a worktable to tune gears and toilet which was really convenient if you need to answer the implacable call of nature before you ski out instead of running back up to your room. The Maples made up for its lack of ski valet with an excellent concierge service that meticulously arranged almost everything from ski lessons and rentals to restaurant recommendations and reservations.
