Smashing service....especially from Brogan. (great day with Rob & Tobes on Cannock Chase. 2hr journey here from Worcester......home the journey back is easier! But worth it - our next meet will be 07 January weather permitting)

Went for lunch with friends. Every thing was good but the food although good was expensive - 4 mains and 4 drinks were nearly £59 a bit over the top for lunchtime, One main was just a ploughmans and the other just a baked goats cheese dish. Drinks were 2 pints 1 rose and 1 orange.

Thank you Robert for your lovely review, on a lunch time we have sandwiches, bar bites and snacks starting from as little as £2, we also have a wagyu Sirloin on at £24.95 so depending on what you order will obviously determine the cost. Kind regards Tony Later More

Nevertheless, they found us probably the last table. Service was very slow after ordering our wine. Waitress friendly enough, but didnt come back to ask if food was ok and... More

Nice oldie world pub in the center of Penkridge, also doubles as a hotel, went for a midweek meal get together with some friends. Even though the menu was a pleasant change from the run of the mill pub menu that is usually on offer and the food was pretty good, I feel that it was overpriced. We had 3... More

Thank you for your lovely review, I am sorry your felt the risotto too creamy and I was disappointed to hear the waitress did not offer a replacement. At the team meeting on Friday I will re-emphasise the complaint handling procedure. The fresh, local food is not the cheapest in the area but cheap & fresh rarely go together, it... More

If like us you're passing through and want a comfortable room for the night at a reasonable price, this is the right spot. The room is small but spotless and so is the bathroom. The food in the restaurant is really good and the menu extensive. The locals all gather here, so the atmosphere is friendly and personal. A good... More

Found this pub whilst moored overnight during a canal holiday. Food was excellent, great menu, kids loved it too. The service really friendly. And the icing on the cake was free wifi, which we hadn't had for a week on board... Kids were thrilled!!!
