Spent 6 nights in the Potoo Room in March. The place was a real treat. Well maintained, exceptional service and good Jamaican food. We were on a birding trip with Rockjumper and arrived a full day early just to enjoy the amenities and estate grounds. Our room was spacious and overlooked the pool with a stunnng view. Miss Elaine and...

Wonderful time, family of four did birding on and off Estate property, enjoyed the swimming pool after a vigorous birding hike. Meals offered a taste of Jamaican fare. We visted the ocean, historic structures, and the Resevoir, all enjoyable. Two all day trips gave us a chance to see more of the local scene as well as more birds. (97 birds...

Thanks Green Castle. We had a short visit, but it was just what we needed. The staff is so friendly, they were extremely accommodating with our travel to and from the grounds. We got most of the birds we were after, and had a wonderful time on our bird tour on Ecclesdown Rd. The grounds are very diverse, with primary...

Green Castle is more interesting than it lets on... Every room seems to have its own resident small anole whose job it is to hunt down and devour any insect foolish enough to enter and then return to its role as a wall decoration. The plantation has a fascinating history and several structures dating to the eighteenth century. The atmosphere...

My wife and I spend 5 nights at Green Castle in early March. There are 8 rooms of different levels of amenities, views, closeness to the pool and dining, etc. While we were there a birding group occupied most of the rooms for several nights, otherwise we were mostly by ourselves. Service was always top quality, the staff was very...

Ethan Kistler and I had a fantastic stay at Green Castle Estate last December for my World Big Year. The tranquility of the place and the quality of birdwatching is fantastic and it is a super stakeout for the mythical Jamaican Owl. Thanks for you Jamaican hospitality, I will surely come back, but next time I will come with my...

We spent a week at Green Castle Estate in the Hummingbird suite. At $280/night with breakfast and dinner pricing seemed right although the shower/bath was poorly provisioned with only a partial bottle of men’s bodywash/shampoo. Breakfasts and dinners were large portions of delicious traditional Jamaican fare. Lodge staff from the local community were lovely. Elaine, the manager, was very organized...

My tiny shabby room was probably the servants quarters off the kitchen at one time with no view, no privacy, and no amenities. The staff was very nice but the owner Richard is nasty and does not know how to treat a paying guest properly.

This was a highly unusual situation for us and guest behaviour we have never seen before. Her room was a small double room, not front line and part of a special low priced birding package but used by many guests previously without any problem. The guest was rude, aggressive, hysterical and nothing any of the staff could do was acceptable to her....

My wife and I stayed at the estate house for eight nights on a fairly successful birding trip in November 2016, occupying the Hummingbird suite for this time. Our introduction to Jamaica wasn't auspicious with heavy rains and chaotic traffic on the road from Montego Bay. We arrived at the entrance to the estate to be met by Elaine, the...

My wife and I just returned from a week at Green Castle. We were primarily birdwatching, the estate is large with many special birds in the grounds and excellent trails. We were very well looked after, with good food and very nice "boutique" accommodation. We used the local bird guides arranged for us for 2 days off the estate, they...
