I was on a walking holiday. We were welcomed by Maria who was very friendly and hospitable. She was quick to provide us with a much wanted drink on the terrace after our long walk. The hotel is Stylish and our rooms set on its own roomy terrace. Breakfast was made by Maria and exceptional.
If you consider this venue as a guest house with extra facilities, you won't be far wrong..it's NOT a hotel..Maria greeted us as we entered and checked us thru to our rooms. Basic but enough for a 1 night stay.. Breakfast great, local produce and all dishes made by her. Water hot enough from solar heating for shower. Beds really comfy even with that rubber mattress topper 😂. Great packed lunches ready for next day's walk over to Chipude.
We stayed here three nights as part of a walking holiday. The views from the terraces are magical and embrace a vast amphitheatre of mountains. The food was superb. The chef there seems to know how to combine the flavours of local products so that they continually surprise and delight.
It’s strange the different perspective different people give hotels. Yes this is a small rural hotel: but it’s charming and not sure what people expect- : our rooms at the top (9 and 10) required a couple of flights of stairs but were quite large and had nice dark wood floor, doors and windows and the shutters and doors opened out onto small balconies with views up the valley. Yes people did play football on the playing pitch next to the hotel: but always seemed to finish by 7 so did not bother us. The lady on reception was friendly and we ordered dinner the 1st night. We are vegetarians and although @ Euro 28 a head it was not the cheapest it was the best meal we had on La Gomera and the service was excellent it finished off with a glass of the fantastic local spirit to finish. The price included 4 courses plus wine and water as well. The hotel breakfast was fine: but again the service was friendly and we loved the eco friendly approach including the goat in the garden! Oh and although it was solar and we were there in feb the water was hot in the showers! …
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an independent walking holiday booked through Inn Travel. Our hostess is willing and cheerful and has little English. The rooms are simple, the shower was hot and reasonably powerful. Maria cooked us a tasty but simple Spanish dinner on our 1st night. The hotel is clean but possibly a little tired. Beds are comfortable enough but do have rubber mattress covers! Given that this is a fairly remote place largely frequented by walkers we feel the hotel is adequate and some of the other reviews a little harsh. It is not sophisticated but it is clean and a hot shower is a godsend after a days strenuous walking. Vallehermoso is a delightful small town with a pleasant square where we enjoyed relaxing in the cafe with a beer at the end of the day and watching locals and walkers alike. …
