Busena Terrace Hotel looks and sounds like a 5-star hotel. Location is lovely on beach, with several great pools and big rooms. It has everything going for it. It SHOULD be great. However, the service is not befitting of a 5-star hotel, in terms of the staff and also the facilities. The gym is embarrassing, without a weight in sight and only a couple of running machines. The staff are incredibly inflexible and in some cases plain unhelpful. Little details - such as fixing an apparently broken espresso machine at breakfast - should be done quickly at a hotel of this level but proved impossible at Busena. Lots of features of the hotel were closed because of staffing related to coronavirus - including the spa, poolside bar and several restaurants - which is fair enough to some extent but some other aspects of the hotel - such as a clothes shop - were overly-staffed. It just didn't make a lot of sense. When my friend had a broken toe, which needed redressing, the hotel claimed they didn't have a first aid kit. Again, not even close to 5-star standard.

The location is overall very nice. The teppanyaki restaurant is very good, but also overpriced. The breakfast buffet at La Tida is really excellent with pancakes, French toast, Goya juice, purple yam bread and purple yam Brulee that is so nice

I am currently staying with a party of 40 guests over in Japan for the rugby World Cup. We have been most impressed with everything to date in Japan and the welcome we have received. Except for this place. It’s impossible to get a meal booked at any of the few restaurants that are actually open in the hotel, most of the younger staff are fine but the aggressive nature of others is impossible to fathom. In particular the business centre and the pool attendant supervisors are both very rude and dismissive and I’ve just had my umbrella removed without an explanation. Hence this post on trip advisor. It’s better I write this as my wife who is normally a very accommodating person cannot get angrier about the service and attitude - she ended up pleading yesterday for a restaurant booking for dinner this evening which she eventually got for 1730, having said we can eat from 1900! We are all stunned that a hotel of this size and so called quality is unable to give people reservations for bookings in any of the restaurants that are open. The answer is always “fully booked” but on the two occasions we went to each of the two restaurants at the time we wanted a booking both were nearly empty. We have been living off crisps and more crisps because we cannot get a meal at a decent hour. I can honestly say that I never felt less welcome in a hotel anywhere- it could be the language barrier but not when you try to hang onto your poolside umbrella by the pool and it’s forcibly removed. We leave tomorrow- I cannot wait. Dicky Evans

Upon arrival at the airport we were collected by hotel transfer which took around an hour to reach the resort. We were welcomed at the hotel in the club lounge with a refreshing fruit punch. We were staying 3 nights in a 1 bedroom cottage with partial sea view & plunge pool. To get to & from the cottages you can walk or take a golf buggy. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us. Nightly the sofa was made into a bed. It was very hot during our stay and we found the air con was rather weak on an evening. Our bathroom was very well stocked with toiletries & additional items, robes & pyjamas. The plunge pool area was a little disappointing as it required some general maintenance but otherwise was pleasant. The general pool area was extremely busy especially the lower pool which had a slide so popular with very young children & inflatables!! The beach is on the doorstep with many water activities, we didn’t take advantage of these. Glass bottom boat & underwater observatory are worth a visit. The resort restaurants are busy so I would recommend booking upon arrival. We ate at the Italian, buffet & teppanyaki all were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though there was a language barrier. There is also a hotel shuttle which runs between other hotels in this chain, check the timetable & book your seats. Overall this was an enjoyable, relaxing couple of days.

I stayed at The Busena Terrace for 3 days. It is a beautiful, polished resort, which spares no expense to make sure your money and time are well-invested. Staff is very friendly, doing right to ensure you experience the luxury and attentiveness of Japanese hospitality and professionalism. You are greeted with a glass of juice upon your arrival, and given thorough explanation to the properties amenities and restaurants, before being set loose to your own shenanigans. I'm not entirely sure if it was off-season, but our stay was from May 30-June 2nd and it was completely empty aside from a few pockets of people here and there. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but was shocked given how massive the resort is to accommodate tourists, there were barely any there. Some key notes: • The beaches are very well-kept. Water is crystal clear blue, coral is everywhere. You're forbidden to swim outside the designated area due to jellyfish. Many water activities such as jet pack, wave runner, water bike, etc. They also offer snorkeling and scuba diving - please be aware that spots book up fast, so buy days ahead of time. The pools were also impeccable in cleanliness, but closed quite early (5:30 PM). • Buffet is delicious! Very clean, serves both modern and traditional options. Food isn't mediocre as what you'd expect from a typical one. I personally only got to sample the breakfast, which was incredible. Fresh juices, rolls, delicious omelettes, etc. Several restaurants to explore that range in cuisine from Italian to Japanese, Chinese, BBQ. Reservations are required except for the buffet. • Housekeeping is thorough; fresh towels and sheets changed every day at 10 AM. Rooms are very attractive and kept up to standards. No issues like mold, insects, etc. • Gift shops everywhere! One catered to foods and beverages, another housed Okinawan trinkets from beautiful lacquer bowls and cups, hand-crafted glass jewelry, t-shirts, etc. There are a few little shops outside the property such as a tiny convenience store if you wanna stock up on booze and salt cookies. It also offers a place to make your own souvenir out of clay. If you're an early-riser, a farmer's market opens up for a couple of hours every morning at 7 AM - 9 AM; a couple of little stands that serve traditional Okinawan snacks and tropical fruit. Overall a delightful experience and one I wish I could have enjoyed longer than 3 days! The thunderstorms are also exhilarating. Having returned home just a few days ago, Okinawa and Busena were some of the highlights of our 18 day journey through Japan. I highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at the Terrace Club in a ocean view room 12-15 APR 2019. The room was incredibly luxurious; I especially loved the chaise lounge on the terrace and the exposed bathtub. Staying at the Terrace Club comes with several benefits, breakfast is included, cocktail hour every night, tea time in the afternoon, etc — dinner is not included, however. A few things to note — you really must make reservations for dinner every night. The most popular dinner places are the Chinese restaurant and the Main Dining option. If you stay at the Terrace Club, you have access to the bio pool, sauna, and the cocktail hour right there, as well as the Thelasso spa experiences. To get the main hotel, the hotel concierge will take you on a golf cart or other car, or it’s also a pretty short walk. There is also a spa at the main hotel — the masseuses do not really speak English but I highly recommend getting a massage! It rained on and off and was a bit too cold to swim, but the sunrises were beautiful and the ambience was perfect and incredibly romantic. My husband and I especially enjoyed the cocktail hour and the biopool. Do be prepared — there are many people there who want to serve you; for us Americans it was incredibly awkward but we just embraced it and tried to enjoy. Also, we rented a car because we have SOFA licenses, but I imagine it would be somewhat difficult to get to the hotel without one. It’s an hour drive on a toll road just to get here. Overall, I definitely recommend the experience. We look forward to coming back again!

I came on a short stay with my sister and her husband who are visiting Japan. Busena Terrace is an easy 2 hour flight from Tokyo, and a wonderful place to land. The service is wonderful, people go above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction. The views of the sea are breathtaking. The rooms are nicely equipped, a bit dated, but with so many wonderful things to see, eat, and do, it is a minor comment. I highly recommend the Teppanyaki restaurant in the hotel. Also the breakfast buffet is top notch. The pools are warm and inviting. I highly recommend this resort.

We came as part of a honeymoon trip visiting and it's paradise. It’s off season so quieter and not all facilities are open but enough is to make our stay wonderful. The room was big and clean. The breakfast buffet at La Tida is really excellent with pancakes, French toast, Goya juice, purple yam bread and purple yam Brulee that is so nice as well as a large selection of breakfast foods. The beach is clean and the water a beautifully clear turquoise. The staff are all so polite, friendly and helpful and speak good English. There is a handy bus stop just outside for further adventures. The Italian restaurant Chula-la was superb and we enjoyed an original awamori cocktail with gyoza, goya chips and brown sugar peanuts at Ku-su bar Dachibin. The “fun pub” Sugar Cane was lovely for sitting outside and smoking with a cocktail or whiskey. It would have been nice if the veranda bar or refreshing square had been open but we will try and return when the sea bed walk is open in summer.

Best hotel I have ever stay! Nothing is too small or too big for the staff. The room, the food, the view, and best is their staff, you can really feel that all of them really serve from their heart! They have a shuttle serve from Busena Terrance to other Terrance hotel, ao although we did not booki Naha Terrance, we took their shuttle service to Naha Terrance from there we took a taxi to our hotel. Really fantastic place to stay!
