Marriott annually celebrates Christmas in a big way every year. Outside bushes to a giant tree inside the lobby were amazingly decorated with 100's of poinsettias was absolutely beautiful. Santa mingling with the guests in the lobby, then making room calls later and delivering presents was magic. 2020 the lobby was clean as a thistle as the Grinch had just been there. No Christmas cake or cookies this year. Staff was not decked in Santa hats, nor a live band playing subtly in the background as in yesteryears. The ritz in executive-level is gone without even a hot dish, and the best service was cheese and bread. Even the small Charlie Brown Christmas tree in the room was gone. Snacks were all in wrappers, it seems that the executive chef and his staff have just left. Missing are many of our favorite staff faces as we have made the pilgrimage to the Marriott for over a decade, but we have finally had it as this was the last straw next year we will seek something new and we can only hope and read something positive in review.…
We did a "day-stay" here and really appreciated that we could do so. We were staying somewhere else further up the island with a rather expensive late check-out charge, so decided to spend the day at Marriott before heading to the airport in the late afternoon. The charge was reasonable. We got a nice room, used the pool and ate lunch in the restaurant. Everything was really nice and convenient. The lunch buffet was very good. Seems like a newly renovated restaurant. There is also a spa and onsen. This hotel is not on the beach. You will need to take a bus or drive to the ocean. They have a very big pool, lots of fun. This hotel is very nice for children, family friendly. Nice service, friendly staff. Thank you Marriott!
I think that the hotel is a good fit for families with children of any age, but especially those with younger ones. They have great facilities as well as a world-class restaurant. The pool was also have high standard.
We had really good stay at the hotel. We arrived to Okinawa after 20h of flying from Europe with a little 4 months boy, so our first days were about adjusting to the local time zone and exploring the immediate vicinity of the hotel. I was a bit concerned about the location (away from the beach), but it was actually a short (less than 10 minutes) walk and due to being located on a hill, there were great views from the hotel. We very much enjoyed breakfast, as the buffet had both local and Japanese options. As an Ambassador Bonvoy member I was upgraded to a room on one of the highest floors, which was appreciated (all suites were already booked). Last but not least, I would like to mention that we met two very friendly employees from Poland: Przemyslaw and Beata. I didn’t expect to meet Polish person at check-in after 20 hours travel from Europe. They were both very helpful and made us feel at home in Okinawa.…
We stayed at the hotel for one night and our room has a very beautiful ocean view that could probably be due to the hotel being on the hill top. The room is spacious but is a bit dated. We bought the tickets to the Acquarium from the concierge and enjoyed a 10% discount. We used the laundry facilities and needed to get some changes from the concierge. The buffet breakfast had a good spread of Japanese and western good. The salad was fresh and tasty. The green smoothie was tasty.
3 nights and 4 days trip this time in Okinawa. We stayed Mrriott. When enter very big open space at lobby. Staffs was very kinds. Room was so clean and organised. We'll back to Marriott next Okinawa trip.
Family of 5 adults occupied 2 connecting rooms for 3 nights in late May 2019. Rooms are big in Japanese standard. Ocean view balcony. Staff are helpful and assisted to book activities. Breakfast is good. But wifi is weak. Disappointment that swimming pools closed at 6.00pm. An indoor pool closed at 10.00pm but for babies and young kids only called training pool. GYM opens 24 hours. Car park costs Yen 1000 for my stay. you need a car to go around, the hotel restaurants closed at 9.30pm, you need to drive down the mountain to local restaurants and Lawsons. Another disappointment is booking through HOTEL.Com included one free beverage per one person per day, no conditions attached. But at check in we were given vouchers that stated you can only get your free beverage if you dine in one of the hotel restaurants. We verbally confirmed this with the hotel staff. This made my family felt that this is not the Japan we experienced, and this is not we expected of a 5 stars hotel. We have travelled to many places and some hotels provided free soft drinks every day.…
Upsides: room is spacious with semi double / queen sized beds. Comes with balcony and sofa. Friendly hotel staff. There is a large souvenir shop and convenience store within the hotel. Hotel room is in good condition although quite dated. Downsides: hotel is quite far in from the main road. Overall value for money.
Spacious room, wonderful facing the sea with an enclosed settee to enjoy view. Amenities typical of Marriot standard. The buffet breakfast had wide variety n nice options. The green juice special was really nice. The executive lounge however was small n limited selections. The liquors was served only in evening n had fair selection. The gym was also limited n the indoor pool heavily used for children Swimming lessons. There is a nice Golf course nearby but unfortunately I didn’t play as my wife doesn’t play Golf. Overall a good n comfortable hotel to stay.
I stayed at the Mariott Hotel with 3 friends in December and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful with a perfect view and the Spa area was very nice as well. I have to eat gluten free, so one night we had a Korean BBQ and and the chef cared for me so well, I cannot even put it in words. After telling him exactly what I can and can't eat, he prepared completely extra meat and extra sauces for me, so that I had my own little all-you-can-eat-buffet on the table! For desert, I even got to try all of the icecreams (7 kinds), which he got straight from the kitchen due to contamination risk at the buffet. It was absolutely amazing and the taste was even better! Thank you again so so much to the chef!
