It was such a friendly place. The owners were so kind and the food was amazing. Not to mention the baths. Make sure you are hungry because there was just so much food. Would defiantly visit again if I head to the area

Great place to feel Japanese Omotenashi. Private open air bath is so good, meals are amazing and the best hospitality from the host/hostess. Everything was perfect, unbelievable service in this orice. Unforgetable memory.

Pre-trip, the host was very responsive to all our queries and he gave very clear directions to the ryokan. Although we arrived after sunset, we had no problems finding our way. Our group of 6 couples were greeted very warmly by our hosts, collected our yukata (the ladies have a wide range of colorful yukatas to choose from), checked-in to our spacious and comfortable rooms. The highlights of our 2-nights stay at the ryokan are the Kaiseki dinners and natural onsens. The traditional multi-course dinners were really special and delicious - lovingly cooked the grandmother.

Had an amazing experience there! Food was nicely prepared and fresh. The hosts were also very generous and warm! They paid attention to minor details such as picking us up with an umbrella and helping us to park our car when we arrived on a day with a slight drizzle. The host even helped to shift his van from its original parking lot so that we could have more space to reverse our car out upon check out. The onsens were well-maintained and clean. There were four private onsen, each with an attached toilet which was very convenient and lock for privacy. Would definitely recommend and visit again, thank you!

We were there for 1 night to experience a ryokan and picked this one based on good Tripadvisor reviews. They are all correct :). The rooms are very clean and the couple that runs the place are very kind and generous! They have 4 onsens, 2 inside and 2 outside. You see through the tv in your room if they are occupied. We had them free although it was fully booked. The onsens are very clean and beautiful (outside) and you have a room in front to lock with a washlet and toilet. Very nicely done! The food was delicious, all prepared in a small kitchen and even the mother of the houselady helps. The food is plenty and really tasty. The breakfast is also Japanese style and very good. We loved this place and really recommend it!

We arrived late at night at the local train station, no sign of a taxi. We called the amazing hosts, they came and picked us up and late at night, cooked us dinner, served us drinks and were the most incredible and gracious hosts. An incredible experience and a highlight of our trip. Truly exceptional.

It was tremendous moments in this ryokan, especially with kindness and warm service from host, staffs and even price is very reasonable. Dinner is really great for tasting real local cuisine. And breakfast is traditional japanese home foods and great as well. Room is very clean and tide, host’s explain is good enough to understand how to use facilities. They have 4 bathing rooms( 2 inside, 2 open air ), you can check availability from the tv screen in your room. So no need to book. Pick/Drop service available, you just need to let them know your train ticket schedule. They have train time table, so You just can ask them and will get clear information. Recommend to walk around ryokan, there are many spots and small roads that is good to take a picture. For Onsen, temperature is just good for all, and great to enjoy bath. For questions. You just can ask to host. She’s really really kind. Highly recommended.!

It was great one night in yamashiroya Dinner and breakfast was perfect!!! It was really great meal. And hostess and host was also nice and very kind to me. There are 4 bathroom and i used outdoor bath. It is very clean, calm and relaxing moment. I want to go there again with my family.

After 4 years, we got to visit Yamashiroya again. And the best just gets even better. Meals were perfect. Sleep was perfect. Hospitality was top rated. Private onsens were as enjoyable as last time. Will always be our first choice when we visit Yufu.
