Many people come to Takarazuka because of the revue group. There are not many onsen hotels in the city, though the spring head is found some 80 years ago. It is less than one hour drive from Osaka and Kobe, but there are many traffic lights on the road so the driving time is actually more than that. Most of the attractions lie along the river running through the city and near the Takarazuka theatre. Wakamizu is located across the river of the train station and Takarazuka theatre. All these are within walking distance. Hotel car park is just located in basement. My room is a spacious 12.5 tatami Japanese room, facing river, overlooking train station and Takarazuka theatre. It has a double sink, separate toilet and a bath. Onsen is located on the top floor, with both indoor and outdoor onsen, both with good view of the town. I have dinner in the room, the presentation of food is very good but portion is small. Breakfast is a the function room, one of the dish is kind of a steam egg and it is a great surprise. Another good feature is that check out time is 11am, giving you abundance of time to pack up.…
I was overwhelmed by the beauty and calmness of the hotel Wakamizu. The standard of service was beyond expectations. The reception was always kind and very helpful. I have never been to Japan before and spoke no Japanese,I was treated with such kindness. The rooms were immaculate traditional Japanese style. We had a room overlooking the river which was outstanding. I have never slept so peacefully and well. The hot spa was the most amazing experience and I will miss this very much. The food was of a very high standard. The location of the hotel was exceptional as central to Osaka and all the many temples and sights one would wish to see whilst in Japan. The shopping centre was amazing and within a 5 minute walk. There were plenty of restaurants around also offering amazing food.I cannot wait to return back to this hotel again and highly recommend it . Many thanks Wakamizu for a magical stay.…
We chose to stay once more at Hotel Wakamizu on our second visit to Takarazuka. Large comfortable (Japanese style) room. Delicious breakfast. We enjoyed using the bath on the 8th floor - both indoor and outdoor baths, latter with a lovely view overlooking the river. Staff were most courteous and helpful. Our special thanks to staff member Mr Mizuno, who spoke English well (better than our limited and very basic Japanese!) for his assistance.
Very convenient hotel with a beautiful view overlooking the river. Ten minute walk away from the Yakarazuka Grand Theatre and five minute walk to the Hankyu and JR railway stations. If needing a good hotel to stay in Takarazuka this is recommended.
Booked the Wakamizu for my mother and her friends to experience a traditional ryokan-style stay. We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant where they served us each tasty course separately. Futons were laid out while we were at dinner and the hotel has a small onsen on the top floor. Guest can access the rotemburo (outside pool) and inside pools. Breakfast was served in our room. Not cheap, but worth it for the experience.
