Stayed for 2 nights on business. Everything in the hotel is new and absolutely spotless. The room is small (but no smaller than other Japanese hotel rooms) but bed, pillow and quilt were perfect so had best nights sleep of my 2-week trip to Japan. Nice that hotel was smoke free. 'Wet room' arrangement in the bathroom was a little awkward. Desk staff were very friendly and helped find local restaurants. Breakfast was of good quality but limited choice for Western tastes though. I will definitely stay here when I'm next in the area.
Clean,Western business style hotel; double room was quite large by Japanese standards. Not much character but comfortable, clean and pleasant. Excellent high speed in-room wi-fi (LAN cable also available in room). Coin laundry on the 3rd floor next to the public bath was very convenient. Free massage chairs in the sauna were awesome as well. Be careful as there are two Silk Hotels -- the original Silk hotel, and this hotel, which is the newer, more updated (and more costly) Hotel New Silk. When I was looking them up online, it seemed as though sometimes the Hotel Silk website would take you to a page that was actually information about Hotel New Silk, and the hotels are quite different. The older Silk hotel does NOT have wifi in the rooms (only in the lobby), and does not have the public bath either. You can choose breakfast as a buffet style every morning at the Silk Hotel, or breakfast in the restaurant at New Silk (I believe this is Japanese style only.) We chose the breakfast buffet a Silk Hotel, and it was very good, with a large array of both western and japanese foods. You can't bounce between either one though, you have to choose one or the other for the duration of your stay. Not much English with the front desk staff we spoke with, but since we can get by in Japanese, this was not a problem. They were very pleasant and we had no problems at all the entire stay.…
Travelled here on business. Rooms are smaller than at western hotels butstill an adequate size. Rooms facilities are fine. Bed was slightly larger than a single and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection. Comfortable stay.
One of the best hotels among limited options within Iida city centre, though I'd definitely opt for Japanese style ryokans around the area when possible. Location is the best bit of this hotel - only a few minutes walk to the station & high streets. Rooms are relatively more spacious than other hotels in the area except for ryokans. Clean & okay but wornout. They let electric bikes for free, which may give you a good opportunity to cycle around the local area easily. Obviously this hotel is cheaper than ryokans in the area, thus good for those who want to save their travel cost.
