My wife and I stayed two nights at the Kurobe Kanko Hotel on our way to the Alpine route and Kanazawa. The hotel is a short bus ride from Shinano Omachi town and is set in a large cluster of hotels which has been developed for travelers using the Alpine route. Unless the weather is really bad do not waste... More

We stayed for one night and it was nice. The rooms are large which is nice. And very close to the bus stop. They have a decent buffet for dinner and breakfast. The Onsen switches morning and night so one can use both sides. The town is quite small so one can walk to most places with in 15-20mins. It's... More

I stayed here while on a family tour through the Kurobe region of Japan. I loved this hotel and it's regional charm! The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent - I loved trying Hirame (grated Japanese mountain yam) for breakfast. The dinner options were also extensive, with fresh tempura and grilled steak made to order. There were also lots of... More

In a nutshell, the Hotel, Onsen and the food are very modern yet they preserve the traditional Japanese culture. It was a wonderful experience, for us, who were on our first visit to Japan. We are a family of four, with two teenage daughters. We were a bit apprehensive about the Onsen and the food. But within an hour, our... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night after a long train ride from Nagoya. The hotel is just minutes walk away from Omachi Onsen Bus Station. The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. The room is pretty spacious for 3 adults. The toilet and wash basin is outside of the sleeping and living area which... More

Stayed at the Kurobe Kanko Hotel for a single night before embarking on the Alpine Route. Unlike other reviewers I had strong wifi reception from the third floor and can only presume it's been upgraded to run throughout the hotel. The room was spotless and clean. Ryokan style and 8 tatami mats. I couldn't fault it. Slept very well. Staff... More

First. The hotel has an awesome onsen. Two indoor pools and an outdoor pool. The male and female onsens change on a daily basis so you can experience both worlds. For some reason, tour groups camp here, so beware if you are travelling with your family. I don't like tour groups and I don't like hotels that host them. They... More

Stayed here 1 night after doing a full route of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The staffs are really kind and friendly, although they barely speak English. One of the staff can speak Chinese, so if you can speak Chinese, it will help you a lot. The onsen is not open air style onsen, but good enough to rejuvenate my body.... More
