Very comfortable B & B positioned right on the water's edge overlooking the sea loch. Well appointed rooms with quality beds, and a delicious breakfast the next morning. Thoroughly recommended, but book early as it will be full during the high season.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Balmacara Mains Guesthouse near Kyle of Lochalsh. Rooms were very nicely decorated, clean & modern. The guesthouse itself has the most fantastic view over the loch - completely idyllic. Staff were warm & friendly and the breakfast were yummy! Location is great, very handy for Skye, Plockton and the like. All in all,...

We spent a lovely couple of days here while looking round Kyle and Skye. Room was lovely and Breakfast great with large selection. Our room looked out onto the Loch and we could sit out in the garden overlooking the Loch, such beautiful scenery. Staff were helpful. Private entrance to rooms was nice in many ways.Would recommend.

We stayed here for only one night on our trip through the highlands. The next day we felt sorry to leave and wished we could book another night! The room was big enough and very clean, the bathroom was also very clean. The big bed slept very comfortable and at night you hear no sounds at all! It is a...

Balmacara Mains is a guest house not a B&B. The rooms are nice and all have doors opening to the exterior (like a motel or motor lodge). The website says laundry services are available so I assumed a washer & dryer for our use as needed. They actually take your dirty laundry and wash, dry & fold it for you...

Beautiful location on the shores of Loch Alsh. Very friendly staff. It turned out that one of the family members who was staying there knew my cousin - he had recognised the name in the guestbook. Room was well-appointed with a wonderful view over the loch.

The location of Balamacara Mains GH is nice, just over the Loch. The rooms are quite large. We had two big rooms in the main building. We didn't find the real b&b ambiance, it is more a small hotel. The breakfast was good, but didn't reach the quality or personalization we found elsewhere.

I booked a room at the Mains for myself and my bridesmaids before our wedding in Eilean Donan which is just a short hop away. Lucy (the manager) and staff team were fantastic- from my first tentative enquiry to the stay itself, I found everyone to be so friendly and helpful - a real taste of Highland hospitality. The room...
