#1 of 10 B&Bs / Inns in Ferentillo
Travellers' Choice
The Runcini guesthouse, totally anti-seismic, is situated in an old medieval village, the Gabbio that overbears the Valnerina and the underlying community of Ferentillo. The units are at the beginning of this old village and the road that runs through it is part of its structure. The rooms are lodged internally of these completely reconstructed stone houses, maintaining the warmth and the history of the various elements with whom they were built and that have characterized them over the years. Casa Torre, Casa Dama and Casa Pietra are names that were given to the houses in order to mark the differences between one and the other. In each of the houses there is a space available including a distinctive well-equipped kitchen and places were one can comfortably relax while watching a movie. Each room has a private bathroom. The "stone" itself has generated the name and the colour that the rooms are decorated in. The space is equipped with characteristic items that give our guests the possibility to feel at home. The area around the houses has a nice terrace with a lawn and olives where one can enjoy the environment and immerse into nature.

It was very nice experience. Guesthouse Runcini is in a small and very pretty village called Gabbio in Ferentillo. Upstairs this village there is a small and very old church with paints of 1300 . Everything is very comfortable and very silencious. The bed is very softly. The view is beautiful on the big and green valley. The breakfast it was enough.

We stayed at Guesthouse Runcini whole visiting Abbazia San Pietro in Valle, about 2h from Rome by car. While the small towns on the way seemed a little dead, the guesthouse changed our mood completely with spectacular views from the mountain and a very warm and friendly welcome from Doda. Few people are as helpful as she was in such a brief time! She showed us the old village that her husband started restoring about 30 years ago - absolutely gorgeous - including an old church. She also arranged a booking AND discount at a local restaurant, which was so delicious and so cheap! The room we stayed in was comfortable, and nothing beats waking up to that view!! The only thing to be aware of would be the drive up to the guesthouse which is a little steep, which might not suit people with a fear of heights, but it’s all very safe and definitely worth it for the village and the view from the top.

Situated in a Hamlet, high on top of a mountain/hill gave us the best view of the surrounding area. It is quiet and peaceful, the breakfast was a standard Italian breakfast but of good quality. The rooms are big and luxurious. The only negative was that the shower was a bit on the small side. The bed was comfortable and we were sad that we did not book longer and had to move on. Busy restoring the tiny church, she gave us the key to enjoy its current beauty. Excellent hostess.

I had spent two nights about three years ago at this guesthouse and was amazed then. Coming back I was once again surprised by its beauty and the hospitality of the owners, Doda & Pier. The view & location is one of a kind, the apartments with original details of the medieval village in which the houses are built, are beautiful and really make you feel at home. Homemade breakfast cake in the garden or on one of the many terraces. Space for BBQ and sun beds near the pool. A magic place for true relax, nature lovers and romantic couples.
