For someone born in Manchester, it was great to return and have a chinwag with the locals. The reception girls on Saturday/Sunday hailed from Latvia, Bermuda, Poland and ..... the UK. And we did (at least I did) have a good chat - the girls were humourous and charming. I was attracted to this hotel by its Web homepage -...

We came for the rugby grand final. When we arrived the staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was adequate, although the beds were very hard. The bar area was more like a canteen than a relaxing place to unwind. Along with the stream of delivery drivers bringing pizza and Chinese takeaways, and the very poor variety of refreshments,...

Stayed here for one night in September. Very handily placed for Old Trafford, although it inevitably ends up being full of Man Utd fans (something to bear in mind if you are an away supporters, like I was). Parking was easy and plentiful. Room was nice, clean and roomy. Our room was on the car park side, no view of...

Stayed here as was attending an event at The Point which is next door. Check-in was very quick with friendly staff though they made you pay up front which really irritates me- why can't they just take a deposit on your card and then charge that if you scarper without paying? Didn't realise when I booked that a number of...

Stayed here for one night while in the local area and visiting the Trafford centre, reception staff very helpful and sorted out a mistake I had made on my booking with no trouble at all, stayed in an exec room which I thought was very reasonable considering continental breakfast and parking is included. Location was great for going to the...

The room was small and basic considering it was an executive suite. This hotel is very good for location as its a 5 min walk to Old Trafford and you can't get any closer to the Cricket Grounds, if you book the executive room its over looking the grounds, which is lovely. I found the rooms very dated with carpet...

Stayed at the Old Trafford Lodge on 21/8/12 for one night. Easy to get to, not too far off main ring road and ample parking. Two Friendly receptionists offered all information in a quick and effective way. Rooms were clean and spacious, with perfect work space with wi fi and plenty of plugs for laptop/chargers etc. Room looked out over...

I have heard good reviews from colleagues who are crick mad. If you are then staying in a room with a view of the grounds is excellent! I was very impressed by how close it was. The staff generally were pleasant. How ever, the room was small and basic. bed was hard and uncomfortable, so not a good start for...

We have stayed here a couple of times & on both occasions it has been a pleasant stay & very affordable, We always book an executive room with a balcony over looking the cricket ground - we have enjoyed watching the ground be re developed. The rooms are clean & comfortable, breakfast is basic but enough to keep you going...

“If you are visiting to watch cricket, ask for an executive room facing the ground and as far away from the pavilion as possible. This way, you will get an uninterrupted view of the game. We usually ring well in advance and ask for a twin room, either 16, 15 or 14, on the first floor.”
