We stayed here for 3 nights to look at all that Tajimi has to offer. The staff were lovely & went out of their way to assist us. The hotel is easy to find from the train station & we found a back road route that was a short walk. The non-smoking twin room was large for Japan & wit was clean and quiet with no smell of cigarette smoke at all. The breakfasts were great with such a good variety of local foods plus bread & coffee. It changed daily. The only rather amusing time was when a tour group from Mainland China were at breakfast having stayed one night. It was absolute chaos at breakfast but the next morning it was serene once again. We enjoyed our stay in Tajimi. We caught a local bus to the Craft Museum just out of town which is worth seeing for the contemporary tea house alone. We also caught a bus to the Folkcraft museum & to the Mosaic Tile museum which was designed by Terunobu Fujimori & is just amazing! We were so glad that we made the effort to go there. We looked around the Oribe street precinct & saw lots of Oribe ware & other pottery. We took a bus to Echo-ji temple & then walked back to town via a Catholic Cathedral & a local hardware shop that was fascinating. Tajimi is an easy train ride from Nagoya & well worth a visit. There is a small tourist information centre at the train station that was extremely helpful.…
Where do I begin? We got a room that reeked of cigarettes, that starts at the corridors as you step off the elevator. The lobby has shelving that has a choice of pillows,(which you need to select early or else you are out of luck), and hair dryer. All for a hotel rate higher than that of the Mactan Shangri-la Resort Hotel!!
Short description (keywords): Tajimi, 45 min from Nagoya per train, 45 Euro/night, free wifi, no safe, fridge, good service, breakfast included. Location The Oustat Hotel is located in the small town Tajimi, about 45 minutes train ride from Nagoya. 5-7 minutes walking from Tajimi railway station brings you to the hotel. Oustat Hotel Tajimi is located on one of the central streets of Tajimi with several shops, supermarkets and kiosks nearby. There is Seven-Eleven convenience store just across the road, operating 24/7 and giving the fantastic opportunity to get cash in yen using European credit cards. Generally, it is a headache getting cash from the European cards in Japan. Hotel The hotel is not new, but clean and neat. Everything is in the good condition. The building and infrastructures originate / were last refurbished in mid 90s. Free umbrellas are available at the entrance. The system is thought-through: on the way of leaving for businesses in the morning, the quest leaves the key at the reception desk. Coming back the quest receives the key together with the breakfast ticket for the coming morning. Room The room is approximately 12 sq.m., equipped with a TV, a fridge, free wifi, an internet cable, a kettle and has a starter set for tea and coffee. There is a climate system and even air moisturizer. Unfortunately, most of descriptions are in Japanese only. At the same time, the steering is rather intuitive and I did not experience any major problem with it. The bathroom is equipped with the bath, traditional Japanese WC set with all electronic features. A set of towels, shampoo, body lotion and shower lotion are provided. There are also courtesy slippers and pajamas for quests in the room. Breakfast The breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast choice includes Japanese and continental kitchen, is versatile and well cooked. The automatic coffee machine brews some innovative coffee drink using powder milk and water and some strange coffee substrate. I do not recommend using it. Filtered coffee from the glass can nearby is just fine. Services and Personnel Personnel are extremely kind, very friendly, efficient and helpful. Personnel at the desk and in the cafeteria speak good English. Price The price of 45 Euro for a night including breakfast is fantastic. Resume Oustat Hotel Tajimi is very nice, comfortable and convenient hotel at very affordable price and can be recommended to all travelers in the area.…
Outstat hotel is a confortable and reasnoably priced hotel, waling distance from downtown. Hotel rooms are reasnoably large (for Japan standards), personell is kind and helpful. Good japanes and western style brekafast
Comfortable hotel with good staff. The semi-double room is slightly larger than typical so comfortable for two people. Very good breakfast buffet with wide selection, including a station for frying an egg or grilling a dried fish. The only very small negatives are that there is no public ofuro and no self-service laundry.
