I was in Tajimi for a wedding and I just needed a hotel for two nights that was clean and close to the wedding location. This hotel met my expectations and then some. Room: The room is small, but all the rooms I stayed in Japan were small, so just know your expectations. (This room was bigger than the room I booked in Kyoto.) The bed was a double, it wasn't soft, but I don't mind a firm mattress. Included in the room was AC, a closet with hangers, TV, mini fridge, hot water kettle, mirror, desk, and luggage rack. Also, free Wifi in the room with a strong signal. Bathroom: Also small (a little larger than a bathroom on an airplane, just add a shower), but again, I don't mind smaller spaces and it was completely adequate. As for amenities, there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in large bottles that permanently stay with the bathroom. Complimentary toiletries were a toothbrush and paste, brush, razor, and expanding sponge. And paper slippers. The tub was deep and shower pressure was good. Complimentary Breakfast: Buffet style -- plenty of food. Japanese food like rice, vegetables, and fried food; and Western style food like toast and jam. Coffee, tea, juice -- the usual. Location: Centrally located for my purposes. It's 15-20 minutes from Tajimi Station, 15 minutes from Eihō-ji (where the wedding took place), and it was a five minute walk from the karaoke place we ended up after the wedding. Staff: Quick check in, spoke some English, very kind. They helped me call taxis, which would arrive quickly. Overall, good experience. I'd stay here again.…
In most respects this is an ordinary Route Inn, with nothing to complain about. But this particular property has the hardest beds I've ever slept on. It makes the ancient thin futon at my in-laws seem soft. We very much like firm mattresses, but these we couldn't sleep on. It is otherwise clean and comfortable with the usual tiny rooms of that class of hotel. There is a small ofuro which is always welcome. The breakfast is adequate, but not great (too much fried food for my taste and the only fruit was banana). The staff were all great. You will want a car if you stay here as it's quite a distance from the station.
I know that Japan is not the place to be if you are looking for rooms the size of a hangar, but of the 10 or so hotels we visited in Japan this was probably the smallest. It's really a roadside hotel that is quite comfortable when on a journey. Like a motel. We stayed here as we were too late booking something in the town of Matsumoto and the area around it. There is no wifi. The breakfast was pretty okay. Service was very friendly.
