As a spoil we booked 2 nights in this ryokan.. Huge traditional room with a lovely view on the river. Hospitality and attention to detail beyond words. Meals (breakfast and dinner included) top class and so special each couple in a private room overlooking a koi pond. Hot baths (indoor and outdoor available) quiet although Yatsusankan was fully booked. Free...

It's hard to pick one memory as the "best" from my trip to Japan, but Yatsusankan as an experience will not be forgotten. We booked the Jaruku room (which is probably bigger than our house in Sydney haha) as it had a private bath. However we ended up using the hotel public onsen baths more--they are amazing. For a rookie...

I don't even know where to begin with my review of Yatsusankan. The hospitality was top notch (even for Japanese standards). The food was to die for. The onsen, amazing. We stayed for two nights and we felt it was the perfect amount of time. Since we stayed in one of the historical rooms we did not have a traditional...

We stayed for three nights in this traditional ryokan during the Takayama's Festival. Juraku room was fantastic - with a private onsen and huge relaxing room with massage chair. Dinner n breakfast were sumptuous. Service was excellent. Definitely will go back again soon..👍👍

After discovering the delights of Kaga, Noto and Kanazawa last year, I decided to come here for the Takayama Spring Festival. Even though I started looking months ago, most places were already fully booked. Luckily, I happened upon the website of this lovely ryokan. This is located in Hida-Furukawa which is a 15 minute train ride from Takayama. So it's...

This is a very comfortable and cosy Japanese genuine Ryokan. They welcome us in a private salon with a Japanese green tea. The room is large and well decorated and all the hot spring bath are beautiful. I recommend.

We stayed here during the Takayama spring festival. The ryokan is about a 15 train ride from Takayama station and then a seven minute walk. Shoji-San and his team give the top notch attentive service you expect in a mid to higher end ryokan.they can do western breakfasts for those who are interested. The two indoor/outdoor baths are beautiful. There...

First of all this ryokan has fantastic team as a staff. There is no limit in polite friendliness and hospitality. You will be welcome and made feel special from the greeting onward. Small special details makes the stay private. Check-in lounge is work of art and cup of hot tea while filling the guest form by the fire is the...

The ryokan is situated at the small town Hida just by the side of the river. It is about 30 min drive from Takayama town. The hotel offers excellant hospitality and attention to all fine details making our stay a wonderful time. Our room is perfect, very spacious, clean and comfortable. The outside private tub is another perfect treat. The...

Our one-night stay at Yatsusankan was undoubtedly the highlight of our recent 2-week trip around Japan. From the moment you are led into the private room for checking into the hotel you know that your stay here is going to be special. This is a large ryokan, but despite that, it feels intimate due to the ambiance that it creates....
