We had a very nice stay here. The place is not as well designed or furnished as the other deluxe ryokan we visited but the service and meals made up for it. The place is a bit dated but well maintained. It has very traditional, simple and well appointed feel to it. We had a family room that our family...

We spent 4 nights at Inn Seiryuso in August 2016. This ryokan although no as luxurious as Hiragiya in Kyoto, has all the charm and excellent traditional service of a real Japanese inn. We stayed in a Japanese deluxe with private onsen n° 103 which was really gorgeous apart from (it seems) having hosted President Carter on his viti to...

We stayed one night in this retreat. On the one hand very modern, on the other hand very traditional. Modern because the facilities are state of the art. Traditional: shoes off, food. One must realise, ad a Westerner, that staying in a ryokan is an experience in itself. There is no hotel bar, no olave to meet others (except in...

Wonderful wonderful place. Not cheap, but well worth it. Lovely traditional tatami rooms. Recently refurbished. Excellent food. Lovely service. Exceptional onsen. And the best bit is that the large swimming pool is full of onsen water so it's very warm. A perfect place to stay if it is bad weather. This ryokan is not by the beach like most others...

This place is so luxurious. There is nothing bad about it, it is a little pricey, but worth the splurge for the night. We had a beautiful suite, with our own onsen both inside and outside. It is super clean, and the staff are wonderful and so friendly. It has an olympic sized natural spring pool, saunas, steam rooms, a...

We stayed in 2 diff rooms for 2 nights at Seiryuso because a room with a rotenburo (outdoor hot spring) wasn't available for our 1st night. Our room the first night was very large and overlooked the river and the woods. The rotenburo room the 2nd day was very interesting - there's a short flight of stairs down to the...
