We booked a weekend stay for myself and my wife while visiting friends. Unfortunately we received a less than warm welcome from the hotel staff even some off hand remarks about halal food. We soon realised why when one by one a large group of so called "patriots" arrived for a conference by a group called "Britain First" they were...

The hotel itself is very tired and dated, the food wasn't bad but what really lets it down us the fact that they allowed Britain First to hold its annual conference there so you would question their judgement and position on equal opportunities.

Went there with my 2 sisters and met up with 8 cousins. The communal rooms were lovely and welcoming, with tasteful Christmas decorations. The bar area was spacious and comfortable. We stayed for dinner which was tasty and moderately priced, wine included. The bedroom was large enough for the 3 of us with comfortable beds. I would recommend staying here...

Eleven cousins meeting up for the first time in years. We needed a hotel with family rooms, good food and reasonable prices. We found all we needed in this friendly venue. Great lunch of fresh sandwiches and lots of choices of fillings. Evening meal was excellent and included wine in the price. Breakfast didn't disappoint either. The staff were extremely accommodating...

The only thing i didn't like was that rooms need a bit of fresh refurbishment. But besides that, the rest was pretty cool. Good service, excellent food (great value for money) and a very reasonable price. Also the gym entrance is free for residents!

I booked this hotel for a weekend stay in Sheffield. Absolutely cracking gem of a hotel. Yes, it does need modernising, particularly the room I was in, however, it was still a great hotel. The bedroom (room 4) was clean and huge, the shower was great. For those that feel the cold (i.e. me), it was really warm so that...

Visited the Sitwell arms for a family Sunday lunch, booked the table over the phone a month before as we were going to be a large party, the woman on the phone was nice but obviously had a list of questions that needed to be asked and this seemed a little automated. I emailed a couple of times asking questions...

We were much taken by the warmth and welcome we received at the Sitwell Arms. The bedroom (no 21) had a magnificent four-poster bed and tapestry hangings. Room size was generous and despite there being a function going on in an adjacent room we were not disturbed in any way. The restaurant and bar were well run and quite popular....

I wish I had of read the reviews before staying here. Just about everything in this hotel needs refurbishment. The room was dirty, nothing worked, and after complaining, I was told that the hotel was due to be refurbished (it seems this excuse is being used year upon year, after reading the other reviews). Beds soiled. Bathroom not cleaned properly....
