really great accommodation splendid breakfast - but it would be important to take care for the better selection of the music. The music selection of the local radio station during the breakfast is not a proper choice, unfortunately.

Having spent one night so far in this hotel I can state they now have hair dryers in the rooms. Still no shower curtains though. The hotel sits on a quiet street and on the second floor I'm sleeping with the window open to enjoy the cool evenings. The breakfast fare is standard Continental: meats, cheeses, rolls and coffee with...

The hotel is located in the city centre, close to restaurants and supermarkets. Air conditioning in the room. There are no hair dryers in the rooms (you can get one at the reception), a bathtub but no curtain available so it gets wet when you want to take a shower. Breakfast ok - muesli, milk, scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes, selection...

Rooms are relatively big, though a bit basic. Very nice and wide selection of Hungarian wines from many regions, at VERY REASONABLE prices. Reception till 10 p.m., but they waited for us and served wines till 11. There is also a sauna, we did not try.

Thank Credoc

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In 1183 a monastery was founded on gentle slopes at a junction of two rivers on infinite fields in western frontier strips of land... Today SZENTGOTTHARD is a settlement at a junction of the River Raba and Lapincs and also it is a Hungarian-Austrian-Slovenian crossborder taking care of three nations' culture, traditions and inhabitants. The most western town is ours in Hungary, which is the ,,gate"of the youngest National Park, the Orseg. Our life used to be shaded by the gloomy line of the Iron Curtain throughout decades, but nowadays we are pleased to be proud of our small region with its untouched natural beauties due to historical heritage and varied ethnographical and architectural elements. The River Raba basin, Harsas Lake, the Vend-region and scattered settlements typical of only this region await you with having so many surprises in store. In the heart of the Orseg woods you will be captured by ,,pine-smelling peace"! Hunters, fishermen, rafting oarsmen, cyclists, walking, hiking, horse walkers, in winters skiers have new experiences in our region. After an Orseg adventurous tour there is no more pleasant to do, but to refresh, have a sauna in the BORHOTEL and after a massage to open an excellent full-bodied bottle of wine from 22 Hungarian wine-growing areas, to drink to our sweetheart's health and the following day to try the services of Gotthard Spa & Wellness Health - resort. Of course, the weary business travellers can freshen up so we know the furher success has come by themselves... Welcome to our website. We would be very plesed if you spent some time with us. We are sure that in five minutes after choosing our best offer you will feel that certain pine-smell, our sauna or you will long for a wellness experience recommended by us all over... Believe it that in Szentgotthard the BORHOTEL is the place where the pulse of the Orseg can be felt. ... more   less
