We stayed here by accident ! but it was a cool memory. Actually, we would like to stay at Funky Box Hostel but the business is already closed. So we decided to just cross the road and stay in any guest house that exist there hahaha coz we were too tired from 100 km cycling from Chiang Rai. And Baan...

This rambling wooden bungalow guest house looked a bit ramshackle at first but we really loved this place right on the river. We went for a cheaper fan room which was lovely, with a comfy firm bed and nice bedding, three good blankets as it can get cold at night. The room had tables and a clothes dryer to hang...

Everything here was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and there were free bananas available. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a good view across the Mekong to Laos.

Conveniently located along touring itineraries, around North Thailand or for crossing over into Laos, Tammila, in Chiang Khong, is one of my favorite stop-over. The simple resort is hidden under trees and oversees the majestic Mekong, affording a great view to the east shore, with fabulous sun dawns. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Homemade bread served in breakfast in the riverside restaurant - make your stay even more pleasant. P Wat the owner loves and lives on the...

After the really touristic places in the golden triangle (Mae Sai, Chiang Saen), Chiang Khong is a much friendlier place. The Baan Tammila is a really great place with spacious rooms, great bed and relaxed atmosphere. With a private hammoch just outside your room, friendly staff and great breakfast with river views, what else do you need?

“Conveniently located along touring itineraries, around North Thailand or for crossing over into Laos, Tammila, in Chiang Khong, is one of my favorite stop-over in North Thailand. The simple resort is hidden under trees and oversees the majestic Mekong, affording a great view to the East shore, with fabulous sundawns. The athmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Two types of rooms are offered, the « budgets » are smaller but also comfortable. People usually spend time on the common terrace, siping drinks, eating pasteries, making friends and enjoying the afternoon torpor, while watching the flow of the big river. My first thoughts, in the morning, are always for Tammila's breakfast, a real treat, with home made bread and various choices (my favorite being the cheese omelett). Small details, like free wifi, international chains on TV, a couple of English language books and some handicrafts for sale round up the enjoyable experience of a sojourn in this guesthouse.”
