Our experience in Pico Sands was memorable. Although there were some shortcomings, such as lots of crowd during check in (I think there were some sort of team building activities and company outings during our 3D 2N stay) and jampacked restaurant, we still enjoyed our stay as a family. My kids loved the pools and we enjoyed relaxing and taking pictures at the beach. Note, though, that the beach is not white sand, it's grayish-white. There were lots of activities to do such as bowling, billiards, play area for kids, biking, etc. but everything came with a cost. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet which is quite satisfying. During our stay, the breakfast consisted of steamed or garlic rice, chopsuey or steamed bokchoy, danggit, pasta aglio olio, corned beef, scarmbled eggs or omelette, rice congee (lugaw), longganisa, beef, cereals, bread, pancakes, salad, as far as I can remember. Thumbs up to the food served in Pico Bar and Restaurant as they were mostly yummy. I enjoyed their salad because of the baby arugula, the shrimp pesto, and the grilled chicken was cooked to perfection, very juicy and not overcooked. The asian salad in Lagoa restaurant is also highly recommended, though the Pad thai was dry and looked like it was cooked for long. The pan fried chicken also tasted good and similar to that in Pancake house. The waiters staff were attentive and respectful although a little frazzled because of the number of people. Our room was quite spacious and basic amenities were available but no room slippers. I like the good and strong hot and cold shower/faucet in the sink. Also, the rooms are not sound proof as you can hear other people's foot steps and conversations at the corridor. Overall I liked our stay and it is one to always be remembered. One more thing, I wish that they limit their development and leave some mountains/trees untouched as the area our room was facing shows a part of the mountain being levelled to make way for construction of another building. Please leave room for trees and birds as a way of protecting our environment and hasten global warming. Thanks.

We stayed here last week as a family trip. It was our first time and traveled with 2 other families. Our expectations were that it was a 4 star hotel, but we also managed our expectations that it is owned by SM, so lower them. The amenities. 4 stars. - Basketball - Play Room (big one) - Bowling - Video Games - Badminton - Swimming - Beach - Pool - Volleyball - Bike Rentals There's not many hotels that offer all of these things, which make it perfect for families to go to. We had a great time overall, but note that everything except the pool and the beach come at a cost. 250PHP is the constant theme. Varying from 1 hour to 2 hours of time depending on what you are doing or 1 game of bowling. It can definitely add up if you have a lot of kids. Rooms. 4 stars. They are really big and spacious. We got the renovated rooms, so I think ours are probably better than the unrenovated. It's not a true "4 star" room, but it was very clean. Felt newer and the 2 queen beds is hard to find. We were really happy about the space. Internet. 2 stars. It was really slow, so if you plan to work, expect disconnect. On a plus side, there is wifi everywhere around the entire resort. Check in. 1 stars. It's probably one of the slowest check ins I've ever been through in my life and this is the process of it. I am not talking about a long line. The actual check in was like 15+ min. Service. 3 stars (restaurant) In order to reserve a table, you have to preorder all your food. There was no one in the restaurant. There's no buffet option, but they charge buffet prices with serving SM frozen food quality. Play room staff (5 stars). Food. NEGATIVE - 1 stars. Probably some of the worst hotel food we have ever had. We tried all the restaurants and only the Beach one was decent. Everything is severely overpriced. SPA - 5 stars. This is one of the few redeeming qualities. It's nice and the massage (scalp and head) was great! Price is reasonable. In terms of covid restrictions. We don't really mind what is or isn't happening because the world has to move on, but we did not feel like it was overcrowded except in the swimming pool. Overall, would we recommend it. Yes if you want somewhere 2 hours from MM with a beach, BUT manage your expectations that the food is horrible. Also water slide was closed.

It took me a while to post my review as I was trying to be considerate to the property that was trying to recoup the losses of the 2.5-year pandemic downturn. We stayed in June 2021. Still the height of the pandemic. This was the third property we visited since the 2020 pandemic & they breached a lot of safety protocols. We arrived & they did not even check our swab results, the lobby was packed as if they were on full occupancy. There was no physical distancing everywhere- not in the restaurants, not in the pool. The beach was crowded and not maintained. There were only a few sunbeds and the only restaurant by the beach was not set up properly. It looked like a carinderia by the beach. The worst part of the experience was when our original room had strange noises coming from the floor tiles. We were trying to figure out why it was making a crunchy and popping sound and then we realized the tiles were popping up like crazy. We got startled and had to run to the front desk as it all felt like the room or even the building was going to crush! The lady at the front desk did not seem surprised at all which gave me the impression that this is a normal occurrence at the hotel. She apologized, sure but it took a while for us to get transferred. We were upgraded a bit to the higher floor but it was of course a hassle to pack and unpack again. While the higher floor was appreciated, we had to endure a night with noisy hotel neighbors. We heard all their laughs and stories until the wee hours of the morning. I have been to so many hotels that none of them had this poor soundproofing. I complained the next day and luckily, the noisy neighbors had checked out. Despite all these bad experiences, I must admit we still had a good time because we tried to do our best out of the bad circumstances. For 3 nights and 4 days, we always had a leisurely-long breakfast, followed by our time at the pool. The pool area was so crowded but we did our best to keep a decent distance. We also made sure to walk to the beach in the morning and the afternoon. As mentioned, there were not enough sunbeds and the only time we got sunbeds for ourselves was when it rained. We also rented one of their jet skis. The rate was quite exorbitant but it was the only activity they had at that time. We love driving to the beach, so the unpleasant experience at Pico Sands just lessened our nearby options. I hope they do something about the sunbed situation at the beach, the quality of their rooms, and their service and hopefully, we can give it another try in the near future.

The staff were all flexible, attentive and consistent. The room did not only look clean but smell clean. The Hotel Manager, Ms. Elizabeth Villanueva was everywhere which gave us an impression of her being hands-on and on top of everything. Ning of reception was very helpful and Jerald of Bar by the beach was extremely professional. The Housekeeping did a fantastic job about cleanliness and safety protocols which are our top priorities and requirements for staycation. I did not regret choosing the hotel in the midst of pandemic surge for a quick getaway with my wife who will be leaving the country soon.

Food choices are limited, and yet all food quality are horrendous. Home cooked meals by anyone is tastier than their restaurants'. All are overpriced. Service is also very bad. Air conditioning was also non-existent. They just provided lots of fans for the guests. They are a frickin hotel/resort!

We were a team of 14 people and booked 6 rooms for 2 nights. We were expecting a 4 star quality and service but REGRET and DISAPPOINTED due to followings: 1. Super over crowded with no strict covid measures (I don't they respect the 50% capacity, plus no one is strict about covid tests results) you share facilities with people who doesn't have to present covid results) 2. Highly over priced for food (a small portion with 3 times of normal price in other restaurants) 3. Very poor breakfast (it's a breakfast of of a 2 star hotel, served cold, with very limited options and low quality) 4. Very bad service (I asked for my coffee in the morning, I waited almost an hour and then I gave up) 5. on a positive side, it's a calm place with no cars and noise surrounded by nature, lakes and lots of trees and not far from Manila. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
