Stayed at Ancarraig for 3 nights in early April, we were in a Thistle Lodge. It has been refurbed to a certain extent but not completely I think. I will be honest and say from the start that as a family we are quite particular about cleanliness, maybe more so than most and we usually stay in modern hotels. I...

I stayed in Ancarraig Lodges for 2 nights with 2 friends. We arrived quite late so it was a bit eerie if you are unfamiliar with the location. We were glad we had rented a 4x4 as you do have to travel up a few steep slopes to get to the location. However, when we woke up the first morning...

Located of the beaten track above Loch ness. Enjoyed a 2 night stay there recently and would recommend. The site manager is a extremely helpful and full of local knowledge. The site is currently being improved, some lodges still to have double glazing fitted etc, but if you follow the instructions for the log burner you will have more than...

Having never been to Scotland and never really wanted to I decided to book a short break there. I saw Ancarraig Lodges on line and it sounded just what I was looking for. On arrival, which was easy to find and well sign posted. The lodges are exactly as described clean and everything provided, don't forget to pick up some...

Arrived at 9.00pm in a blizzard! This place is well signed of the main road and the owners emailed us 2 days prior with clear guidance so found the Lodges without a problem. On arrival the lodge was cold but soon warmed up after starting the log burner . Fantastic views and the lodge was great, beds comfy although I...

Arrived at 9.00pm in a blizzard! This place is well signed of the main road and the owners emailed us 2 days prior with clear guidance. (I have seen other reviews that say they struggled to find it? But I think these people would struggle to walk and chew gum simultaneously!) Found our cabin straight away an although very cold...

Well, what an amazing week we've just had! Ancarraig Lodges is a gem of a spot: nestled in the hills above Loch Ness. Rose and James were great hosts - they were extremely responsive to our messages and made us very welcome when we arrived on site. The lodge was really clean and immaculately presented. It had everything you need...

We were looking for reasonably priced cottages near Loch Ness and Ancarraig fit the bill. You do need a car though (which we had) since the cottages are a short drive from Loch Ness. The cottages were self contained and spacious for our family of 4.

Our lodge had everything we needed, very clean and cosy with a great kitchen and a powerful shower. The log burner was fab and kept us warm through out the day and the heat lasted through most of the night. There was a nice pub about 10 min drive down the hill which did food and a decent selection of...
