Our agent suggested it almost by default as a break en route to Bay of Islands. Mistake!! It is stunning. Accommodation is awesome. Food prepared by Sharon was delightful. Wine from their own vineyard exceptional. The red I plan to ship to UK. Our only regret is we only had one night. We'd spend a week here and explore the...

This is a gem sitting on the edge of a melting pot of eclectic rural seaborne country lifestyle. Nestled along rolling hillsides and an abundance of vineyards you think to yourself, 'Whats one more?'.But this is a vineyard with a difference and this coming from a New Zealander with 30 yrs in the hospitality trade , that is a big...

The Lodge is very comfortable with wonderful views down to the Haruki Gulf. Sharon is an excellent host, cook and wine connoisseur. She prepared us an excellent platter washed down with pinot gris from the vineyard -delicious! we only wished we could have stayed longer.

From the minute we arrived we were made feel so welcome. What a beautiful place. Brilliant location in the Matakana area, which is just such a special area to visit. We have been to Matakana time and time again and have never tired of it. There is always so much to see and do. Takatu Lodge is a beautifully designed...

These guys do a great Pinot Gris that is sugar free. The winemaker challenged us that it would not give us a hangover, and it was true! We certainly gave it a nudge...it is a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Is a yummy AND healthy wine possible?!

Beautiful room, so comfortable and luxurious. Great platter for dinner served in our room and great breakfast. Wish we had stayed more than one night. Probably the best B&B we stayed in during our trip to NZ. Local shops good for art ie glass and ceramics. Probs not on the usual tourist trail but def worth a visit.

The four partners of our law firm booked out Takatu for one night for their annual retreat. I have had feedback from each of them separately how fantastic it was - one of them told me it was one of the best places he's ever stayed at, and he has travelled quite a lot! He said he would go back...

We had a very pleasant stay here. The room is spacious and comfortable to spend time in. We loved coming back from a days sightseeing and relaxing on the balcony with a glass of the Takatu Rose while watching the sunset. There is a lovely selection of fresh and local food for breakfast and we had the dinner platter one...

My wife and I had one night at Takatu whilst travelling to the north of the the North Island. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is the only dining option which was prepared fresh for us. The home made muffins were to die for. Perfect for what we wanted but probably not for an extended stay

We only spent a single night at the Takatu Vineyard and Lodge but wished we'd planned at least a two night stay. Large spacious suite with an upscale spa-like bathroom, complete with huge soaker tub with a vineyard view were a relaxing treat after a long drive. Host even made us dinner reservations in Matakana and arranged a taxi for...
