This is an old hotel that has seen better days. The decor of our room appeared to be unchanged since the late 60s, which I suppose could be considered charming by some. The beds were quite hard and the pillows thin. The bathroom was more modern and was very clean. There is a rather chaotic air to the whole operation,... More

Stayed on our motorcycle trip of the Alps. Offered us secure dry bike parking which was fantastic of them. Nice and clean room, restaurant and communal areas. Lovely views from our room. Lovely meal at the restaurant and a good price. Pretty basic room, no tv or wifi but that seems the norm for this type of hotel. Room was... More

It's a nice clean mountain inn with a very decent kitchen! They won't like me saying that if you need information about the mountains, this is the place to be! A couple of retired mountain guides made there hangout the bar in the hotel, run by a very helpful and friendly Ma'am. We walked up mont Buet witch is a... More

We often visit Hotel Le Buet when in Vallorcine. We know the staff and the atmosphere is somewhere between relaxed and chaotic. It is never clear how the evening will go, the food may or may not come on time, the staff are friendly, challenging and quirky, and the clientele varied (including families with children). Although it may not sound... More

Wonderful, historic, characterful hotel and bar/restaurant is without doubt a delightful place to stay. The staff are quirky, the rooms are quirky, everything spotless, the views magnificent , the position perfect and food delicious. The generosity and kindness of this family run business shines through. If you want to experience the true France come here to eat or stay some... More

My husband and I and our 2 children went into this hotel to have a few drinks before heading down to our campsite. We asked the woman behind the bar for our drinks and she started giving us grief for not asking for our drinks in french, her exact words were 'do you not realise you are in France now... More

if you are looking for sophistication and style don't come here. If you are looking for atmosphere, authenticity, charming staff and owners, drop in for a drink, meal or overnight. No idea what the rooms atre like but probably not much change in 50 years - but from the other reviews, that seems to be the appeal of this place!

After walking in the area, we chose to have lunch at Hotel Le Buet - and were so glad we did. We would have loved to sit outside - it was so pretty - but the day was cool and windy so we ate inside - but had lovely views out the window. After eating for a week in Chamonix... More

Founded over 100 years ago this hotel still captures some of the original ambiance. There is a need for refurbishment, yes, but if this is done part of its old world ski lodge charm would inevitably be lost .As it is the hotel is a wonderful holiday retreat for families on a budget. The rooms are quite adequate, some rather... More

Stumbling upon this Hotel was one of the most fortunate experiences of our 5 week holiday. The 5 of us stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it.
