Just spent an evening watching the fireworks at this pub! It was amazing! We had a hotdog - from the outside BBQ (£3 - a little expensive for a solo pub hot dog) and a pint (although £4 a pint - I still think a little pricey for the area) the night was brilliant! The firework display was phenomenal !!!!!...

I've never been to the Alma for food or accommodation but as a pub...wow! Go and sit out front on one of the West Riding's (admittedly rare) sunny days, and you'll wonder why anyone would ever want to be anywhere else. A simply stunning setting with good beer, attentive staff, and a convincing insight into why Yorkshire considers itself "God's...

We live in the area and although we have heard mixed reviews, we wanted to try the food for ourselves (having only had drinks here before). On arrival the pub was dead and there was a distinct lack of atmosphere. We ordered food and the starters were OK despite the fact that bits on the menu were missed off the...

Little bit disapointed with the Alma. We ordered a 16inch pizza ( which it was not) to share and when we got to the last few slices we noticed a black hair cooked into the cheese on top of the pizza. My partner brought this to the attention of the bar maid and was told she would take it back...

Fabulous Wedding Day thanks to Glen,Dave and all the staff. Food was amazing and plenty for all. Views to die for. Nothing was to much bother for any member of staff. So thanks for a great day had by all and for looking after us so well. Many thanks.

Twin room of average size with on suite was £70. Very clean. TV could not get a signal though we were out most of the time at a wedding so didn't ask about this. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, they would basically make what you wanted. Very friendly landlord and staff though landlady seemed a bit stressed.

We had a family party here at the weekend. All the staff including the landlord and landlady were very friendly and welcoming. The food on the childrens and adults buffet was fab. Plenty of sandwiches and hot choices including chicken goujons, tasty pizzas, chunky chips and home cooked curries. Yes it was very busy, but the staff worked really hard...

We booked a table for two via the pubs internet booking system a week before the 30th April. We walked two miles to get there. When we got there the pub was heaving with small children and their parents but we did not think anything of it and got a drink. We sat down on some wooden benchs with dirty...

We've had a few meals at the Alma in recent years and always recommended it to others because of the pizzas. This is the first time that we've been for about a year and it's either deteriorated drastically or we went on a bad night. Our 2 margarita pizzas consisted mainly of tomato purée and hardly any cheese. It was...
