Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. The receptionist was lovely. My daughter had a music exam in the hotel and she was so nice to her wishing her luck. Very personal. We ate in the restaurant, it was lovely and relaxing and there was plenty to choose from for the breakfast. Rooms were lovely and clean and my daughter loved the hot chocolate in the room! The pool was fabulous also. Great hotel, we will definitely be back.

I have stayed at Charleville Park many times in the past few years, amazing service in every way . Can I just say a very special thank you to Amy in Reservations, I had to cancel an overnight stay due to illness recently and she was so very supportive and kind, she called me twice and I really appreciated that. I’m booked in for an overnight stay next Wednesday night and I look forward to meeting Amy in person hopefully. The excellent staff makes all the difference at Charleville Park .

While I have heard that this hotel is part of the Sol group to me it’s the worst place I’ve ever been to . Booked I night getting ready for a business meeting Checked in very expensive for a small Town like Charleville I really only thought of doing review now when the car sped up passing the place Food in the bar at the time was a disaster To make thing worse again I went to there well advertised Leasure centre there was pools of stagnant water on the men’s changing rooms broken lockers closed ones with no keys a steam room no hotter than I would say 4O to 50 degrees . The only thing that I can say about this dreadful place is the swimming pool is well maintained This is part I believe ? Of a chain owned by a prominent Irish businessman . In my opinion he should have a look at it and get his house in order I won’t be returning but maybe it has improved since I was there so a reply to this review would be helpful

Just back from a 3 night stay here. Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very spacious and very clean. Easter eggs left on bed for kids while we were out for the day which was a really nice touch. Food in hotel was great and very reasonably priced. Great location. We travelled down to killarney for the day (about 1hr 20 from hotel) and also to limerick on another day (25 mins away) The hotel is only about 25 mins to cork racecourse, mallow.

An excellent stay from check in to check out. A fabulous room with lots of space for all and a fantastic leisure centre that entertained for hours every day (2 swims a day 😀) - the food at breakfast and in the bar was always first class with lots of choice and great service. Lots to do around the town in good weather or not so good and friendly faces everywhere. The hotel should be very proud of all their staff as everyone we met was very happy and friendly - too many names to remember but a mention for Amy on Reception and Bianca in the bar who were both 5star. A great relaxing stay.

We had my daughter’s christening here recently and from start to finish it was brilliant. Jess in events was amazing from day 1 to help plan our special day and the team looked after us so well. It was all arranged when we arrived and didn’t need to ask for anything. Thank you so much!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold. Coco Pops are always a winner for the kids! Had dinner 2 nights, all good, and meat feast pizza was fab. Leisure centre pool was much bigger than expected and gym was well equipped. Small gripe, couldn't find heavy kettlebell but bars/dumbbells and machines all great and good condition. For completeness the carpet in our room was a little worn but I wouldn't hesitate visiting again. Thank you - loved the positive messages in reception every day 😁

We booked a 2 night family break from April 1st - 3rd. B&B, 1 dinner, kids club, ice cream & activity pack on arrival. Things were so bad, we approached reception on the evening of our first night to be refunded for the second night so we could leave and book elsewhere! I will say the staff are very good. Helpful, understanding, polite & our refund was issued without any problem. To the man working at reception (young guy in his 20s) you are wasted there. You are excellent at customer service and will do well elsewhere. The room was dirty. Carpets not hoovered, maybe lightly brushed over. Dust on everything. Had the room not been used? It was definitely very quite in the hotel for Easter break, so maybe not. The bathroom had been cleaned but that's it. It was dirty enough that I didn't want my kids walking in bare feet. Oh and snot had been rubbed on the curtain beside the bed and never cleaned. The pool area run down & dirty. The ladies changing room had an awful smell, like blocked pipes maybe. The restaurant had several dirty tables, the bathrooms there were really dirty. The food was good and the girl serving us was nice. The ice cream on arrival was never mentioned so I asked for it as a dessert for the kids. That was given no problem. Nobody knew anything about an activity pack. Nevermind, not the biggest deal. Now the most disappointing thing was the kids club. It was a big selling point for us as there is nothing to do around the hotel so once you're in for the evening there's nothing for kids to do. The kids club was supposed to start at 5.30, it was pushed out to 6pm. It was supposed to be crafts and then a movie. The "crafts" was colouring sheets. That's it. Sitting in a completely silent room. No music, no TV. No adults/leaders interacting with the children to help conversation. There was a young guy about 18 left to stand in the room as supervision. Another girl was coming & going. When they were both in the room at the same time they did not interact with each other or with the kids. There were 6 kids total. All had left by 7pm when it was clear nothing else was going to happen besides silent colouring. When I went to the desk to discuss the issues & request a refund, another woman was at the other desk asking for the exact same thing. Both our families checked out the next morning. We were given half our money back for the night we didn't stay however no compensation was offered or even referenced for all the issues we had on the 1st night. We left by 10am the following morning. We couldn't get away quick enough. We booked into the Radisson blu Limerick, 30 mins away. I won't leave their review here (spoiler, it's amazing. So sad we wasted 1 night in Charleville)

Our hotel stay was perfect from the moment we arrived. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the service was excellent. Amy on reception and Aoibheann in the bar were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent in the bar and very reasonably priced. The portions were massive! And the fact that you can bring your pets was an added bonus. Will definitely return.
