Detailed Reviews
We stayed in a family room, very comfortable beds, a camp-bed was added for the youngest and the room still didn’t feel overcrowded. Staff were very helpful from booking, to reception, housekeeping, restaurant staff. The swimming pool was very popular with kids! The only negative was that we nearly had to walk back from the pool outdoors through the car park in the rain, because the hotel entrance near the pool was closed for a wedding. With small wet children this would have been awful. Luckily the wedding hadn’t started yet and staff let us in. This would be the only suggestion to improve access to the pool from the hotel. Overall we really enjoyed our visit and would return again.

We recently stayed staying at the Charleville Park Hotel in Cork with our two children, ages 6 and 8, and it was an unforgettable experience that brought back wonderful memories of the warm, genuine Irish hospitality.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were friendly and attentive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt just like home. Our kids were especially happy with the kids club, where they made some new friends. They couldn't stop talking about how nice and friendly everyone was, which really made their stay special.
The leisure club was another highlight for our family. It was a refreshing and safe environment for our children to enjoy, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in a secure space.
One particularly memorable aspect of our stay was the daily interaction with an older Irish gentleman who turned out to be the general manager. Each morning at breakfast, he made a point of greeting every guest with a warm "Good morning." His kind words and genuine interest in making everyone feel welcome were truly appreciated.
We cannot thank the staff enough for their outstanding service, especially the general manager who made our stay so memorable. We are already looking forward to returning next summer for another delightful family getaway.

Due to atrocious weather conditions on Sun 5th Jan I had to check into the Charleville hotel for the night, I couldn't be more thankful to the guys outside guiding stranded cars into the carpark, the Receptionist who had to deal with very panicked customers, to the cleaners who worked tirelessly to get rooms ready. The staff were outstanding, they remained calm, professional & caring when families in their time of need. Thanks a million x

Hi Colette, Thank you so much for your amazing feedback. It was a bizarre scenario we found ourselves in, but everyone made the best of it. Kind words like yours made it all the easier for us! I'm glad you enjoyed your experience despite the conditions. I hope to see you again in the Charleville Park Hotel sometime in the near future, under more regular circumstances! All the best, Stephen Donelan Senior Duty Manager

Upon check-out I had advised the receptionist that the stay did not live up to expectations nor did it compare to any other "4-Star" hotel we had stayed in. I was advised that, having checked she had the right contact information, she would email the manager and I could expect a phone call to discuss. Almost a week since checking out there has been no contact, so having received the generic request for feedback in a public forum, I'll gladly share it
Having paid for a 2 night stay in a Deluxe Family Suite, I had expected more than what essentially was a larger basically equipped room.
There was a very large stain on the carpet in one half of the room, reminded me of a bleach stain. There were no glasses provided to drink the bottled water which was supplied in the room. While there was a kettle to make tea/coffee, the crockery was mismatched i.e. a side plate acting as a saucer. The furniture is shabby, veneer coming away, dents in the wall. There were two smart televisions, neither of which were connected to the internet so the ability to use Netflix, YouTube was negated. There was no safe to secure any items you may not have wanted to carry around with you or take to the leisure centre. The phone in the room was not working so when there was a need to contact reception at 11pm, it became necessary to redress and go downstairs. This occurred on night one and it was made known to reception that the phone was not working, but nothing done to have this addressed as when checked when leaving, it had not been fixed while we were out of the room.
The leisure centre is ok. It would be useful if guests of the hotel could be advised in advance that the lockers require a Euro coin. That said, the receptionists kindly lent us coins to use the locker and we returned them on the way out. There is a very small family changing room which we did not avail of as the floor was covered in mud and hence not very hygienic. The larger changing rooms have adequate space and were a lot cleaner. The steam room and sauna are not hot enough to have any benefit to users. In other reviews I saw them being equated to the steam which you get in your home bathroom and this would be a good comparison.
We ate in the bar the first evening and while the staff were pleasant and the menu had good options, there is plenty of room for improvement. Plates were not cleared away when main meals were finished, there was no check to see if we wanted to order desert or needed more to drink. We gave up and went to the bar to order and the plates were half cleared after we dropped a strong hint when ordering drinks. Having ate in the town the second night, the bar is not value for money and I would suggest not to eat there unless you really need to. Breakfast was the big positive and the staff in the breakfast room were very attentive.

We stayed in an executive family room. The room was a very decent size and the beds were comfortable. However, when I was making the reservation, I asked for a cot and a mini fridge in the room. I was told they would be there. I mentioned it again when checking in and was told they were in the room. When we got to the room, they were not there. I had to ring reception and ask for them to be sent up which took a while. This was further complicated by the fact there was no phone in the room. I had to use my own phone to go through the steps of ringing the hotel. This wasn't a huge deal for this instance but we wanted room service that evening and again I had to use my own phone and could not get an answer after ringing for 10 mins so had to go downstairs and order the food myself at the bar and was still charged the room service fee.
The pool and gym facilities are really good. The family changing room was not in great shape and could do with a bit of a refurb. The breakfast was very nice and had good variety.

We arrived and quickly headed for the bar, starving and with two kids in tow excited for ice cream and activity pack.
The activity pack is the mini colouring book and crayons you get in Supermacs (come on Pat you can surely do better in a '4*' hotel). The bar was grubby, carpet filthy and chips gone out of chairs we sat on - a disappointing first impression that was just about to get much worse.
My husband noticed juice for our 6yr old & 2yr old being served in long glasses, we requested take away cups and wondered what lay ahead
My husband and I were served ahead of the girls ice cream and they were left waiting. My husbands order was wrong. Both our sandwiches were awful.
While eating ice cream our 6yr old alerted us to a piece of plastic in her ice cream, we brought it to att of girl in the bar and then directly to management. No immediate reaction so we headed off to Lidl to get fed. Great start!
3.5hrs later (I kid you not) management arrives to inform me it was gelatin in the ice cream and my husband had received the correct order. I noted he definitely didn't as I was there and he only eats bread not toasted so I was 100% I was then told they all come with chips when I noted mine hadn't and was told 'very strange ' .. all I can say is very strange indeed!! I then noted an incorrect order isn't the issue hence why we ate without complaint however the issue of lying staff reports was concerning & the contaminated ice cream needed urgent addressing.
I informed it most definitely wasn't gelatin, described the item found and noted the batch needed to be removed as its contaminated and they're lucky it hadn't been our 2yr old as she could have choked. Unbelievable!
I was then informed noone had seen it and that's what chef had said, when I noted the lady at the bar had very closely seen it. I then informed it needed to be reported appropriately.
I was offered kids club free of charge the following evening when we had queried the kids club movie night advertised on website that was not taking place night 1.
23mins later I received a call to the room to be informed the ice cream was made in house and had now been checked and discarded. And now we could have free 2 course meal which I quickly declined.
For 3.5hrs a contaminated batch of food was not removed. No reassurance given.
23mins later mgt had returned to kitchen, food sources checked and discarded- I highly doubt that was a thorough check.
I then reported to the food safety authority.
Our experience is a far cry from a 4* hotel experience and I'm shocked with inability to follow food safety protocols or lack there of!
This hotel is not equipped towards kids. Leahys pet farm is over an hours drive way.
A honest and frank review that I hope saves another family a miserable summer holiday experience.

The room was originally cold and the radiator only came on early in the morning
It was my birthday and my boyfriend ordered an extra add on chocolates to the room, they didn’t even leave a note and for an extra €10 definitely wasn’t special
The Jacuzzi wasn’t available which was really disappointing
The leisure centre could do with some plastic bags for wet swim suits or a drying machine.
The food was amazing 10/10
The staff are mostly nice
The receptionist who checked us in was so friendly made you feel really welcome
Her name was sinqdbile/ snow?

I stayed Saturday the 29th of November with my 2 kids. The room was massive and very clean. Swimming pool was amazing. That evening we went to the bar for food with some more of my family. As there was a charity event been held the bar was packed so to get a drink was impossible they wouldn serve cocktails because it was so busy but there was not enough staff on the poor women behind the bar was ran off her feet and i get it i work in a hotel! The food came out eventually and to be fair it was lovely but when we got the bill which was nearly €300 the bill was completely wrong I got some lame excuse saying that the coors was put down instead of Heineken. A man who I presume was the manager asked what the problem was and I told him everything that I was charged for that shouldn’t be on it he said he would cancel them off no apology and when he dropped down the new bill it was still wrong this happened 3 times and it was like it was my fault for their mistake no apology nothing!! Having a function with that amount in the building have more staff on so they are not stressed out ran off their feet and taking it out on the customers!

Stayed as a group of two families, from booking to leaving nothing was smooth sailing, Booked the Santa experience which was a great deal and paid a deposit of €60. When I arrived the deposit was not on my booking, the receptionist while really nice couldn’t tell me where the deposit was only that ‘it had to be somewhere’, the room was ok very dated but clean. We had dinner booked in advance as our group was large, we went down 15 mins early so understandably they weren’t entirely ready for us but never in my life have I been made feel like more of hindrance. The staff (bar one young girl with dark hair, no name tag on so don’t know her name) were so rude, the manager/supervisor was awful, no manner whatsoever. The bar women, ignored me for over 10 minutes and started to serve someone else while I was standing there and when she did eventually serve me she was in no way polite. Breakfast was good, the staff much more pleasant. We had the Santa experience after checkout, the entire group was to be at the same time, however my part of the group were not on the list for the Santa experience. While there was space for us to go at that time, I would wonder what would have happened if there wasn’t. We gave the kids names and ages but not once were they referred to in any way personally. To be honest, never again would I stay there, especially after the restaurant/bar staff on the Saturday night.

Yes, 3 p.m. is the official check-in time, but I found them flexible.
If your room is ready, you can usually check-in earlier.
