So - it started 3 days before the booking date. I ordered the property via BOOKING, apartment 14, and it clearly says that the booking is blocked 1000Euro from my credit card to ensure payment. The booking was for 6 nights, we were 2 adults and 3 children. Also I received e-mail that I HAVE to transfer 438Euro via wired bank transfer. We were not at our country and I was unable to transfer money remotely. Th property owner wrote that it OK and I can pay him by cache when he'll give us the keys. Also they asked us when we'll arrive, so I told them we will left Wroclaw at 10-11 and it is like 5.5-6 hours of driving, so most likely we'll arrive after 17-00. Also I got phone number of mr. Kukol - I told I'll send him SMS 1 hour before we arrive, so he'll be able to accommodate us. At our way we stuck at place without cellular network at Poland in road accident, and it took about 5 hours to continue driving. When we got to the place with cellular network working, it was 19-40 and we send SMS to mr. Kukol that ETA is 22-10. 35 minutes later we got SMS from him that we can not receive keys after 19-00. It was never written before. We still thought it is any way to get the keys not at the property, we were trying to communicate with property owner and his representative, but the only one answer we got - no way to enter the property after 19-00. It was not any free room at that moment in the neighborhood, so we had to sleep with 3 our kids in the car at the property parking. In the morning no one answered us neither by phone, no by SMS, but I got a e-mail, that our booking was cancelled. Shame on such a owners!

The apartments are owned and ran by different people. We had Jasna 96. It was a one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the living/dining room. There were four of us that stayed, two couples. Ideally, having two bedrooms would have been better or at least a screen or curtain to separate off the sofa bed area of the living room to make things easier. However, the location was absolutely fantastic. Views from the apartment looking at the forest and only a few minutes walk straight onto the Lucky gondola! If you are after a location with a great night life, this is not it. There are only a few restaurants nearby so you either have to travel higher up the mountain or lower down into town. There are regular buses that you can get in either direction. However, if you are after a location that is quick, walking access to the mountain with beautiful views of forest - this is it. There are a few ski hire shops directly next to the gondola. We used one there and the convenience was excellent, as well as at a good price! In town there is also a waterpark. It's fantastic fun but their pricing is unclear. On the receipt they listed surf machine as 0, which was interrupted as free. However, this turned out not to be the case! They listed it as zero because you had not paid for it. In most countries, only things paid for or free are listed on a receipt so there were a few unhappy customers! Be aware!

The apartments have various different owners. We booked apartment 14 through Liptour. We assume the other apartments are slightly different in terms of decor, furniture, room layout and appliances/equipment. Apartment 14 matched the description and the photos we were given. Essentially, it "did what it says on the tin". There were no major surprises (either good or bad). We like staying in apartments because it gives us the flexibility to cook our own meals. Apartment 14 has a stove, but doesn't have an oven, which limits the cooking options to some extent. Also, there was no sieve, no bottle opener, and no glasses suitable for drinking wine. Apart from that, the kitchenette was adequately equipped. As regards the furniture, it was not especially contemporary, but it was functional and comfortable enough. The room was a little cold on our first night. The outside temperature was about minus 15 degrees celcius and, in order to keep things really cosy inside, it would have been nice to be able to bump the heating up a notch or two. Unfortunately, the mechanism for adjusting the heaters appeared to have been modified so the settings could not be changed. Fortunately, the outside tempature improved during the course of our stay, and the heaters were fine apart from the first night. The real selling point of these apartments is the location. Biela Put is the main/central ski lift in the area, and it is right at the doorstep of the apartments (almost literally). The base of the chair lift and the Maxiland ski school are just a very short ski/walk away. We especially enjoyed the night skiing option, although it isn't cheap, and it is limited to one lift. Still, it meant that whichever of us had spent most of the day looking after our 3 year old daughter during the day could still get a little ski time in the evening. Also, the Maxiland area was open for sled riding most evenings, which was a great way to have some family fun after dinner. In terms of bars and restaurants after dark, there are not too many options within walking distance, but that wasn't a problem for us since we were largely self-catering. Speaking of which, there are not too many supermarkets nearby. There is a corner store about 1km down the road near Zahradky. Apart from that, we made a couple of trips to Tesco in Liptovsky Mikulas (about 15-30 minutes away by car), which was terrible (understocked and crowded). If you are self-catering, we recommend planning your shopping a little better than we did.

We stayed 5 nights and the experience was just amazing! Every morning was an awakening in heaven facing the Low Tatras and the beautiful meadows. The facilities were excellent, the rooms clean, modern and spacious, hot tub and saunas in outstanding condition and quality. Kids friendly environment, the perfect place for relaxing and having vacations in the Tatras.
