Here on our 15 year wedding anniversary and it’s been a nightmare. Cash was stolen from our room shortly after arriving. We went to the pool with some red stripes from the room. After a little while people from the pool that were staying a few doors down went up to their room and came back shortly to say they were robbed. We went up to our room to find our stuff had been gone through and missing a bunch of money. Our neighbors filed a report and we did as well. Our neighbors were told they can’t tell other guests they were robbed and credited the money back to their account. We haven’t heard back yet. Classy operation! Don’t stay here, feel so violated. I have stayed all over the world and never have I ever needed to use a in room safe. My personal items are moved around the room every day. Hope this helps others! Won’t be told to be silent! Also, we booked an over the water candle light dinner, come time for our dinner they never came to get us. The front office told us it was booked for a night that was before we even arrived. They told us we had to dispute with the sales office the next day. So there we are with out dinner reservations and had to order burgers to our room. Which they never came and had to walk to a restaurant and order food to go and eat on pool chairs in the dark. Talked to the sales desk the next morning to find out we had the right dinner reservations and they forgot about us. To top it off we booked a catamaran boat tour and they canceled the one we were going on and said they don’t think they will do the next one. I can’t believe how many times they have let us down!

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed in the new bungalows very nicely decorated and super clean resort (very clean and sanitizer everywhere). Our butlers Shawne and Tennel were fabulous! So friendly and provided exceptional service! The front desk staff (Ramone) to the waiters, to the bartenders at the quiet bar, and Junior the lifeguard everyone was super friendly and helpful! Wonderful service, great room, highly recommend!

This is our first time at South Coast (sixth time at Sandals in Jamaica). Loved the room (Dutch Village), the two soaking tubs, and the cleanliness. Everyone exhibited the famous Sandals friendliness, although Natanga at the Dutch bar was superb! The food was incredible (Cafe de Paris and Sushi on the Sand were standouts). Although we only stayed three nights this time, we most definitely will be back. For those who are nervous about the seaweed, there are areas on the beach with NO seaweed beds. We live in Orlando and make regular trips to the east coast beaches, and let me assure you - the seaweed at Sandals is nothing compared to what we are used to. The service is slower (typical of Sandals and a vacation oriented resort), but we did experience significant delays in service at the Jerk Shack (waited almost 45 minutes for food). While I do love this restaurant, that seemed like an inordinate amount of time to wait.

The property and staff are 5 star. I dove everyday and the dive crew is so professional and attentive. We had butler service and although our butlers were great, I am not sure it is worth the extra $$. Love SSC.

This was our 13th visit with the Sandals/Beaches Jamaica brand, and second time to Whitehouse/South Coast. The updates are great touches to this more quiet/elegant resort. Although, there are spots for all preferences, should you like a little more lively/party atmosphere. Here's a bit of length in a few details. Things we loved: - The variety of the resort. Different vibes in each building, restaurant options, entertainment. - Latitudes. Great spot to spend the day or night. - Sherika at Culinary Concierge. She literally made our anniversary week. From setting up a special dinner (decor and attention) to working with the chef to provide us with a few local specialties. She cares about what she does and is an asset at this property. - Melody at Cafe...a song with your morning coffee is the best. She's a gem. - Oshane at Guisepies..He works incredibly hard and was very accommodating. - If you're a returning select member (sign up if you're not...it's very worth it), Russell is your guy. He's listening and attentive to detail. Things that are not as fabulous and perhaps better at other Sandals locations: - Beach. There's more sea grass here than most others. And quite rocky in some areas. Bring water shoes. Not great snorkeling right off the beach. Sand flies...bring bug spray. Crazy winds all week. Negril location is much better IMO. - Snorkeling. Not as great here as Negril, Montego or Ocho Rios. - Karaoke/Martini bar. Needs some updates...seemed to be less room interactive and more entertainer performance driven. Acoustic piano old and broke down/not usable. - Servers/bartenders. Some just looked tired or not excited to help. Negril and Ochos staff keep the party rolling...they are true entertainers even while serving. - Breakfast served later in morning. I know this is personal preference, but we noticed many folks up earlier, waiting for Bayside to open. Things that were not great at all: - Island Routes. We've made it 13 years of visiting without booking an excursion. Which means, the resort usually has plenty of fantastic stuff to do. This time, we decided to book at excursion. Pretty excited until we get there, check in and were told we probably won't be able to go because there were not enough couples signed up to go. But instead of refunding money so we could book a private charter, they held the funds until the day of scheduled trip "just in case someone else signs up last minute". So, our $$ we're locked up until it was too late to make other arrangements. If we cancelled it even the day before, they would only give us half our money back even though it was their actual cancellation of our trip. Now, we're home and still waiting for our refund. Thanks for nothing Island Routes. Tips: - Depends on time of year, but afternoons can get windy/rainy. Get your water sports going on the top half of day to avoid disappointment. - Don't let yourself get really hungry. The service is naturally slower paced. Better to enjoy each course and presentation without "hanger". - Check the schedules for restaurants. Some close different nights. Dont wait till the last night to go to your fave..again, could be disappointing. (We had this happen with the Sushi place...schedule said would be open, but they changed it last minute.) Overall, a nice location.
