The next stop from Malin Beg is Canada, so the reason for visiting is the wild landscape and weather and coastal walks,Silver Sands beach, and the small fishing port. No pub in Malin Beg, but a good cafe with a substantial hot menu. The Malin Beg Hostel, run by the incomparable Frank, is the best place stay with good clean...

The location is absolutely stunning. It could seem remote, but the scenery is really mind-blowing. Our host, Frank, is one of the most friendly and helpful hosts we've ever met, always ready to show his guests the Irish hospitality. I recommend it to families or friends visiting Donegal for one night or more. For a hostel, the quality is excellent...

Just back from a weekend at Malinbeg hostel with a group from my scuba diving club. We have stayed here many times and have always enjoyed it. Frank keeps the hostel in great condition. The beds are very comfortable, the two kitchens and large dining room and sitting room provide plenty of space, and if the weather turns nasty, Frank...

This place is very well-kept and ideally positioned if you want to be away from the world and gasp and gawk at brilliant scenery. Just a few minutes away from the Silver Strand, without a doubt Donegal's most beautiful beach, and away from telephone connection and wifi, this place is the ideal place to get away from it all. Frank,...

Our usual plans for July had fallen through so we were slightly apprehensive about trying somewhere completely new, especially with a moody 14-year-old in tow. We needn't have been. It felt like home from the moment we arrived, with a turf fire blazing away in the hearth - very welcoming after a stressful 4-hour drive in pouring rain on a...

I made reservations with reservations. I never expected a hostel to be this nice. It was clean. We had a double room with a private bath. Every night Frank would put a fire in the fireplace. It was more like a family atmosphere! I was able to cook my own meals and stick to the crazy diet the dr has...

A quiet hostel/lodging in a beautiful area in Ireland. Frank (our host) was very welcoming, and we had a comfortable room, with four beds and a private bath (as well as - in our case - our own private entrance to our room). There were two large kitchens, where we made ourselves dinner. After dinner, we took a short walk...

This hostel is in a fantastic place, at the end of the west, just looking the waves! And Frank is such a good guy you can't avoid to appreciate. Very clean and quietfull this hostel offers all what you need while travelling or visiting Donegal. Just do not forget to bring your food if you do not have a car....

The hostel building is like new. The room and bed were good quality, with plenty of room, and a clean, good-sized bathroom. Common area was spacious, with fire burning, and congenial, interesting people with whom to converse. Kitchen facility had everything one needed to store and prepare meals. The beach nearby is among the prettiest you'll ever see. You are...
