We stayed at Campo Cielo Grande for 5 days with our three teenagers and had an absolutely fantastic time. We fished, hiked, rode horses and occasionally just read on the porch of our tent. Trey and Shelby were great about allowing us flexibility in planning our activities. My son loves to fish and did so with Trey almost every day;... More

Shelby and Trey are wonderful hosts in every respect. And their helper Virginia was equally friendly and helpful. They all have an amzaing "can do" attitude about everything. They are so resourceful with meals of amazing quality cooked in difficult conditions. Trey is especially good on the grill (and as a fishing/rafting guide). And delivery of coffee/tea and a pastry... My wife and I had one of our best ever vacations at Campo Cielo Grande. The hosts were terrific, the food good and the fishing excellent. I caught the biggest trout ever with Trey as the guide. The accommodations were nice, not elaborate, but functional and very comfortable. Trey and Shelby are wonderful hosts and know the area very well.... More

Campo Cielo Grande is located on a beautiful and secluded lake property that is completely silent except for the sound of the wind, birds chirping, and occasional cows mooing, which were music to our ears. We enjoyed complete peace and relaxation, just what we wanted away from the hustle bustle of where we live and work. We really savored the... More

Campo Cielo Grande, or Big Sky/Heaven Countryside, is exactly that. The property sits on 50 acres of pristine habitat that borders Lago Rosario. The luxury tents open up to expansive views of the lake and the impressive Cerro Colorado. Being politely awakened with steamy hot coffee was a nice surprise, which was then followed by a very complete breakfast in... More

Campo Cielo Grande turned out to be a near perfect experience, with great weather, exceptional scenery, delicious food and attentive hosts - Trey Shelby and their staff. The tent accommodation is comfortable and cosy. While the men chased trophy trout - of which many were sighted, the women went touring among spectacular peaks, lakes and forests. Patagonia must surely be... More

As a fly fishing widow during our stay, I was thrilled to see the area around us by car. Shelby is a great tour guide. We saw the magnificent Parque National Los Alerces, where we had a boat ride through the lakes, lunch in a refugio, and a walk along the river. Another day we visited Esquel and an Indian... More

It was the perfect finish to my two week travels through northern patagonia... As the previous post said, Trey and Shelby are wonderful hosts and masters at providing their guest with a "quaility experience." Rather than repeat what the previous post stated so well (as it's still a "spot on" review) I'm going to talk about the fishing. Trey is... More

Despite many years of traveling in Patagonia, our stay at Campo Cielo Grande was our first experience in a real tent camp. We were in for many pleasant surprises. Let’s start with the accommodations, which are very comfortable in a spacious tent on an elevated platform, nicely appointed with local furniture and decorative textiles, and with an American style queen...
