Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stay at the Westgrove Hotel twice a year and always receive a warm welcome. The staff had left a plate in our room with Welcome Back written in chocolate and a piece of dessert for us. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is excellent. My sister uses a mobility scooter and the staff are very helpful in making sure that we have a table that suits us in the restaurant. We have already booked to return next May.

Lovely hotel, very big and good location. Room was a bit outdated but I really enjoyed the stay. We were here mid November. Breakfast set up is good and everything you could want. Would stay here again if there was an event on. Alcohol is expensive but thats the same as everywhere else!

Very disappointing visit. We were on dinner B&B for 1 night. We booked dinner slot no table ready restaurant staff are all very young not trained no manager around no one knew what to do with us they didn't know about our booking. They sat us at an empty table and asked did we want to order drinks, I said you should set the table first! What was worse we were on 2nd floor and some residents were roaring and shouting all night long till 4.30am. In and out of rooms , it was unacceptable for a 4 star, needless to say we couldn't get to sleep at all. I complained to reception on check out she said she would tell manager he has my email, no word at all. Don't stay here unless you have to would not recommend.

This is a lovely hotel - with spacious bedrooms and public areas. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food for dinner and breakfast was good. I would definitely stay there again and would have no problem recommending it to others.

We were a group of 4 couples who were attending the Queen Tribute night we had dinner in the restaurant and the service was terrible over 30mins waiting on a drink and a really long wait in between courses. The set up for the show was a joke first of all we were served our overpriced drinks in plastic cups there were no tables in the room only chairs and the dance floor was covered in chairs and the show finished just after 10.30pm. The only set of ladies toilets had 4 cubicles to accommodate the whole hotel. Women had to bring their young kids into the gents to use the cubicles absolutely disgraceful not having proper facilities for customers. I would not return to this venue for any events.

The staff were fantastic from start to finish, the hotel itself is decorated well and all the little areas for sitting down are lovely. Our room was absolutely spot on for our needs - loved the mattress on the bed, had a great nights sleep. We were there for a work function and had a brilliant night BUT the food provided at the function was pretty poor I have to say, there is a lot of improvement to be made in that area. It felt like an afterthought, and whilst it did the trick and gave us something to eat during the evening, more care and attention could have been put into it.

The rooms and hotel in itself was beautiful. I would give a higher rating only for the male receptionist was extremely rude on arrival. He didn’t make eye contact and made a smart comment when a question was asked. Not a great representation of the business.

really lovely hotel - from the very helpful and friendly staff at reception who check you in - to the breakfast and dinner and bar staff- all fab. really lovely big rooms and clean and extremely comfortable beds. This is my 3rd time staying here and first time with two small children who loved their room and the pool. It is a pity that the spa area is closed at present as that is fab too. I would love for this hotel to have music on in the put to dance with my little kids - but it is a quiet hotel with great value and great staff. I might have to book a music night that they have there - I will defo stay again- great value for money
