Nice pool set in nice gardens, not far from the centre. But in all the hotel's publicity (website and leaflets in reception) it offers internet and TV in the rooms. Not so. Once we'd checked in we were told the wi-fi had been switched off and probably wouldn't be back on again before we left. When we asked after the...

We hadn't planned on staying here but after fleeing Por do Sol (see my review of that one) we decided to spend out last 5 nights in Cape Verde here. Just a 10 minute walk from the town square the hotel offers rooms with a great view of the coast. Rooms are clean and well-maintained, though there were some minor...

Room was not really clean, as wasn't the shower. We had a bad feeling checking in and after they promised us there was Wifi they wanted to charge 6 Euro per hour. Having a conference call to do in the evening and not being able to take a relaxing shower without splashing water all over the room, we decided to...

Nice place to stay at Cidade Velha. We spend there only one night. A litlle bit steep to carry your luggadge but the room was nice and clean. Breakfast was ok. Only the swimming pool was a litlle too "green" for us to feel like jumping in...

Standards, it must be said, of hotels in Cabo Verde are low, and the main difficulty, observation suggests, is maintenance. Checking into this hotel, we asked for a balcony only to be told that there were none available; we got a sea-view room, predictably shabby and with only one sheet, but saw only a couple of other guests staying. \Perhaps...

The hotels on the lesser known Cape Verde islands are poor, so this one stood up well to its competitors. It had a pool and pretty gardens. The food was fine. The bar was well stocked. The staff were rather apathetic, but friendly. The rooms were spacious and cleanish. On the downside, the blocks of accommodation were widely scattered, the...

At first the hotel seems nice, nice views and a pool. But then the nice things end. The pool is occupied bij locals all day, who pay $500 escudo to use the pool. The water is unclean and the pool could use some paintwork. The service at the restaurant is poor, the people barely speak english. Lunch and dinner is...

We stayed just one night here before flying back home from Praia. In general, the hotel was OK - our room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the sea and the garden. The bathroom however seemed a little run-down and it was not possible to take a shower without the whole bathroom getting wet. The garden surrounding the hotel is...

After a pretty bad 2 hour experience at the airport getting visas, the four of us were not so happy to discover that this hotel we booked was a 30 minute drive ($40 for the hotel shuttle each way) from the airport on scary roads. We arrived in the dark, so to be fair this might have made the place...

The Limeria Hotel is well located just outside of Cidade Velha. The garden is very nice constructed and maintained with lots of local plants. The rooms itself needs some renovation, the best times are over.
