A slice of paradise. Loved our stay and will definitely be back. Rooms were perfect, food & drinks were top notch and Tibor, Elisabeth and the kids, were so very accommodating, just doesn't get any better! We ate almost every meal there and the nightly specials were phenominal and the breakfast fruit plate was above and beyond nything I have had anywhere else. The entire staff were so nice and attentive. TPV travel is on the bottom floor to help with any excursions, highly recommend using them, a lot of options and with pick up and drop off service. Hated to leave! It's a great family oriented place to stay!!!!

If you want action, a beach bar scene, and non-stop activity options, this is not your place. But if you're looking for a personalized small hotel across from a wide and sparsely occupied beach, palm trees and surf, and a place to enjoy a drink while watching fantastic sunsets, this is your destination. Things are slow in Junquillal, and that's why you go there. There is no "town", but the local expats gather at the outdoor bar each night, especially when there's music. Restaurant is good and offers a great view of the beach and sunset. Very nice pool to lounge during the afternoon. A few restaurants within walking distance, or take the fixed price driver ride from the tour office located onsite to more adventurous eating. Bottom line - what makes this place great is Tibor, the Canadian owner/proprietor who takes a personal interest in making everything right for your stay. He's always there and anticipating what make your day special. Plus his staff, like Elias, give personalized attentive service that make you feel really welcome. We missed them when we left!

My husband and I stopped by as we were passing through Junquillal. We waited almost 15 minutes for a menu, finally got one after we asked. Ordered right away, and waited over 45 minutes for our food to come. We eventually walked out, and told them that it was not acceptable that it should take that long. Other people were getting their meals before us. We are not complainers, and are very patient people. Not happy at all. It seemed as if they didn't care. The restaurant was not busy either

We did not stay at the Lodge, but visited for lunch, dinner, the music and sunset views. Terrific location facing the beach, friendly staff, good food and environment. Live music. Welcoming hosts. All good!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we ate at the restaurant while we were in Junquillal. Really good food and tasty cocktails, perfect spot to watch the sunset! The best sunsets in Costa Rica are in Junquillal!
