Travellers' Choice
Ravenstone Lodge is a converted 19th Century stables & lodge with many original features including the stables themselves which are now the bar. Situated at the foot of Ullock Pike close to Skiddaw with views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the Northern Fells we are perfectly positioned to explore the Northern Lake District. Ravenstone Lodge is a privately small hotel with just 9 bedrooms and because of this we can provide a uniquely personal service and when you stay with us you are not just a room number but are our guests in the true meaning of the word. Because of this many return time and time again, maybe requesting their favourite room or that a particular dish be put on the menu. Food is very important to us and our philosophy is very simple, top quality locally sourced ingredients cooked to order by our resident chef with sufficient choice to satisfy all tastes. We look forward to welcoming you to Ravenstone Lodge. Mike Cornish - Proprietor

We had a fantastic stay at Ravenstone Lodge. We found the atmosphere relaxing with brilliant staff who couldn't do enough for the guests to make them feel comfortable. The grounds are lovely and a perfect place to relax after a long day in the mountains. Dinner was by the far the best we've had in any hotel , a complete stand out. Wouldn't hesitate to return

Great host, friendly attentive staff, fabulous food, beautiful setting with views, only downfall we booked few days before got the last room which was the smallest, few items a bit tired, extremely creaky bed !!!! However we would definitely definitely stay again.

A picturesque, homely, peaceful haven 10 mins from Keswick just as described. Highlights were Mike and his staff who were very friendly and attentive; the hotel position and walk to lake; excellent chef and kitchen staff; the best Sicilian style red pepper arancini to die for (if you are veggie like us); excellent breakfasts. Only negative would be our bedroom was a little small and old fashioned but had its own charm and was warm and comfortable. Recommended.

A beautiful vista greets the traveller. The hotel is ideally positioned for trips in the northern lakes. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. First class award winning food, friendly staff and guests, everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Definitely a place for another visit.

Beautiful setting with glorious views from the sunny patio. Amazing breakfast and very friendly and efficient staff including Mike the owner. lots of nice little extras - complimentary champagne- home made biscuits with room tea trays- petite fours with coffee . Walk to lake from the garden. For us personally the no dogs policy was much appreciated.
