Could not of wished for a better place for #baileysfirstholiday a brilliant dog 🐶friendly hotel, with the loveliest staff and a fantastic location ⛰with lots of great walks 🥾from the hotel. The food 🥩& drinks 🍺selection is brilliant and great value for money. Bailey loved his first sausages, thanks to all the staff for making such a fuss of him. Relaxed atmosphere, all the guests friendly too, lots of other doggies 🐾. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed. Will definitely be booking again and for sure to become a regular visitor. Thank you.

We recently had a two night break in this hotel. Our room was beautifully clean with marvelous views. It was during the recent heatwave so the room was warm but the staff gave us a Dyson fan to help cool the room. The hotel was ideally placed for walkers (access to Skiddaw from a path next to the hotel) and Bassenthwaite Lake was very near. We had dinner both evenings in the restaurant and we really enjoyed the food, the presentation and the service. As an elderly couple we have been isolating for a large part of the pandemic so we were rather anxious at staying in a hotel. We need not have worried as masks, sanitisers and social distancing were much in evidence - we felt very safe. Also as non dog owners we were not troubled at all by the presence of dogs. All very friendly and well behaved!

Great location, very good food, comfortable bed, and particularly suitable for dog owners. Those without dogs may not be completely at ease with having dogs in the restaurant. Lovely walks from the hotel door. Bus stop for Keswick right outside. We stayed 3 nights and ate in the restaurant each evening. NIce terrace for sitting outside. Carol was very friendly when we checked in and throughout.
