The views from the room were beautiful. The condo was fully loaded and exceptionally clean. The beach crew specially was great and accommodating. Christian made sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. There are plenty of restaurants and activities around.
We spent the day playing tennis at Rio. Mar and then went to Margaritaville area for an afternoon visit, drinks, etc. Well, little has changed under the new resort ownership at the hotel, probably because the Wyndham flag remained. We did see a lot of improvement at the tennis center. It still needs TLC. Our experience has been that the Wyndham clientele rarely sponsors tennis or golf. The Westin clientele was very different. It seems that Margaritaville at Rio Mar is an operation that is not too compatible with the resort and it is kind of segregated from all else happening. We would prefer another type of venue to sponsor the hotel amenities, but that is just our taste. The hotel looks nice and the service, as always, is very good.
I have been to the Margaritaville in St. Thomas and it was so so, but in fairness, it was just after opening 7 years ago. We booked into Margaritaville, Puerto, Rico, and weren't expecting much, but it's a totally different kind of resort with a much better and much more experienced staff. What a joy it was to stay here. It began at check-in, they let us check in early and it was a great room oceanfront on the sixth floor with a great view. Though it was just a studio, it had everything we needed for our stay. It had a stove top, full-size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and all the other appliances and dishware we needed and more. We didn't expect free laundry on our floor with free supplies and the free internet had very good speed which let us stream a movie or two as well as a football game without buffering. The beach was clean as was all the grounds, but seaweed did show up as we were leaving. But I can't say enough how everything was pristine. But the real thing is the staff. We have never been to any resort in the world, and we have traveled the world very extensively, where they had a staff with so many members with over 20 years at one location! It was not just their job, it was their "home" too and they showed great pride in the resort and their professionalism in making your stay the best. Zandra Sequarra the General Manager up front went FAR beyond just great service to me personally. I had some legal paperwork emailed to me regarding the sale of my deceased parents' home. I had to get it printed out, signed, and notarized, and Fed Ex'd to Alabama ASAP. In Puerto Rico, a Notary must also be a lawyer, so she arranged for the resort's lawyer to meet me, do the work, and then gave me a FedEx package and mailing slips so it could be whisked away. I bought her a big box of chocolates to thank her. I rarely encounter such an "I can help you" attitude at a resort. The food at the resort was great, but they also gave us maps to other "local" places for food and adventures. I cannot recommend this resort and especially their staff any higher. Larry Burton…
Beachfront, Golf Resort with casino in Rio Grande near Nation Park, There is a daily self parking fee or valet parking fee at the resort. The resort grounds are huge & well kept, multiple pools, one with an awesome waterslide. Amazing Ocean views or mountain views. I would recommend a rental car since most things are in driving distance. We have stayed at Margaritaville/Wyndham several times & it is a beautiful resort & can drive to the National Park Rainforest in just a few minutes & its about 45 minutes from San Juan. Has a nice beach with beach chairs, beach bar, pool bar, lobby bar & a casino. We are a couple in our late 40's, its a large resort , so be prepared for walking. We always have a goodtime at this resort & hope to get back some day.
This is a beautiful property !! The beach views upon walking into the resort set the perfect tone. Check in was quick & staff friendly. Margaritaville wing of property are condo style rooms; other wing are hotel rooms. We had 1 bedroom that was spacious enough for family. Loved the pool & ocean view from balcony. Food was pretty good. We enjoyed Roots Coastal kitchen. Breakfast at Marbella was really good too. Barista Cafe was great for quick bites esp the pumpkin bread. Didn’t spend much time at beach but the various pools offer something for everyone. Activity pool great for kids; quiet pool great for lounging & relaxing. I think that’s best spot for cabana rental if looking for relaxation. Enjoyed band that had Bruno Mars tribute our last night there. Would definitely return here.…
I decided that I wanted to take a solo trip to Puerto Rico for my birthday and the resort did not disappoint. Upon arrival learned that my room had been upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom suites that overlooked the pool and the ocean. Although the room was right next to the pool I will say the resort did a great job of observing quiet hours so I was able to get a good night sleep each night. The staff at the 5 o’clock somewhere bar were fabulous. Alex made some fantastic drinks throughout the week. I was definitely there daily to try something new off the drink menu. I was definitely a little nervous to do my first solo trip but I cannot stress how friendly everybody was . They definitely made me feel like a birthday queen. Cannot wait to go back!
My family and I stayed at the margaritaville 6/13-6/18. We were initially supposed to leave on 6/17. Unfortunately last minute our flight was cancelled. We now had to find somewhere that could accomodate 5 people on short notice and we were told the place was booked, every other hotel was charging us close to $500 a room. We would also have to find another room when we got back because we had an overnight layover.Of course we did not plan for any of this and it was a major inconvenience. I happened to see the manager Zandra who asked how our stay was. I explained what was going on and she immediately offered her assistance. She was able to find a complimentary room large enough for my family for the night. The young lady at the front desk, Lucy also helped us tremendously by making sure the transition to our new room was smooth. The bellmen, Ranier and Enos (hopefully I spelled their names correctly) were awesome also and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff turned something that could have tarnished our vacation memories into something special. We brought our mothers on this trip because they have been unable to travel for the past 2+ years due to COVID. This was their 1st trip and they had a blast and because of the staff the fun continued. Thank you, Zandra Segarra Lucy Sanes Enos Pizarro and Ranier…
Had a great few days at Margaritaville with friends! Alex and Xavier were amazing and so friendly! All drinks and food were delicious and served in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend a stay at this gorgeous resort!
We came here on our Honeymoon and didn’t want to leave! Everything about this resort was excellent! The staff were so welcoming and made us feel wanted, the rooms and hotel was kept up and clean (especially important in the midst of a pandemic!), the food & drinks were great and the views from anywhere in this hotel were amazing! We loved our experience so much that we took the leap to become members so we 100% will be back! Highly recommend!!
