We actually visited in August 2019 right before the pandemic. Yes it took me forever to write a review, but any how I have to say the 3 days we stood there Carla & her husband made us feel right at home and made us feel like family. It was my oldest son’s birthday and they surprised him with a birthday cake. We had such a phenomenal time. At the time my little guy was 6 & when I tell you this kid was HARD to please, but yet he had such a good time. He loved every moment of it. It’s bizarre because it’s by a carretera but once inside you feel like you’re in a campo. I so LOVED LOVED the place and will definitely be visiting again. If you’re on the fence with booking or not I would say BOOK IT!!!! You WILL NOT regret it!
Dos Aguas is a magnificent place to stay for the entire family or even when traveling solo. It is conveniently located close to awesome sites like the rainforest and two rivers. You can stay in and relax as well for it is lovely and peaceful there. We definitely want to stay there again!!!!
Our stay at Dos Aguas was truly amazing. As soon as the automatic gate slid aside to let us in to the well-maintained driveway through rainforest, we knew that we had made a great choice. The house is enormous and comfortable –combining a traditional island aesthetic with modern, solid construction – and could easily have accommodated double our family of five. Carla, the owner, was tremendously friendly and helpful, even rearranging her own schedule to allow us to stay an extra night when our flight home was canceled. She said it was our “home away from home”, and it really felt like that. Being there allowed us to spread out and relax in a way that is hard to do in a hotel room. There is a full, functioning kitchen, so you can eat out as much or as little as you like. Friendly chefs arrived each morning to make us a gourmet breakfast to eat outside on the large breezy, shaded front porch. Carla also shows an impressive attention to detail. The house is filled with lovely and entertaining works of art – like little ducks that look down from the entrance to the kitchen – yet everything is sturdy, so we didn’t feel any anxiety having our children run free in the house. The porch is outfitted with hammocks, as well as an unusual circular swing that gave our youngest extended periods of entertainment. We would definitely return the next time we are in Puerto Rico and are already thinking about how we could use the size and comfort of Dos Aguas to share a vacation with extended family.…
Carla and Ivan were amazing hosts to such a beautiful and well-appointed property. My husband and I actually traveled in 2017 when I believe the B&B was relatively new, but better late than never I guess! I remember Carla greeted us at the gate with champagne and puppies if you can believe that. The house, custom built, is very peaceful as are the rooms with airy ambience and pretty forest views from the window. Beautiful patio and hammocks for napping. We did not take advantage of the kayaks available. Carla's family has a long history in the area and it was nice hearing how she sourced a lot of services locally and supported her community. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and Carla and Ivan were wonderful company. Thank you!
Dos Aguas is a haven in Río Grande. Carla its owner is an example of what service truly is. The property is conveniently situated close to the 66 expressway which makes it easily accesible to San Juan, the airport and everything the east coast of Puerto Rico brings including the magic of el Yunque Rainforest. I can't wait to go back and meditate, read and enjoy Dos Aguas again.
Dos Aguas is a home away from home. The location is conveniently close to the Rainforest El Yunque and the east coast beaches. Carla was the perfect host and the service was five stars. She provided great recommendations and custom tailored all our needs. We where there for a yoga retreat and fell in love with the house, the people, the location and its history. Highly recommend it!
Beautifully located in a forest on two rivers, this unusual house is hidden in a bamboo forest. Easy to get to, but the nearby highway can be neither seen nor heard. Rooms at Dos Aguas are large and comfortable -- the sound of birds in the moring and evening is intoxicating. A copious, fruit laden breakfast is served on a large terrace from which one can see the river through the bamboos, and see and hear yet more birds. This is a family owned and managed B&B w/ generous and happy service and advice on the marvels of the El Yunque National Forest and the beaches of Fajardo and Luquillo, as well as nearby restaurants for dinner. El Yunque is the only tropical rain forest in the US Park system and the distinct ecologies and water systems as you move up to the several mountain peaks. We were able see the forest recovery after the devastating hurricane season of 2018. El Yunque itself was well worth a two day exploration. We also visited the Fajardo beach and the various wonderful food kiosks along the beach. A final special adventure was a boat trip down the Rio Grande estuary to the ocean. This was organized for us by the Dos Rios staff and offered a wonderful nature trip for bird watching as well as for understanding the ecologies of estuaries. Dos Rios is ideally situated for relaxation in it's own bamboo forest, and for setting out to explore the East Coast of Puerto Rico. It is important to visit Puerto Rico as much as possible to support it as much as posssible. …
Dos Aguas’ host, Carla, could not have been easier to book with (clear emails and texts) or more helpful and friendly during our stay. The B&B may look like an unfinished construction from the outside, but this is a design choice and the rooms are attractively decorated, clean, and extremely comfortable. Breakfast includes several options, including tropical local fruits, yogurt and granola, or a full breakfast if you want. Dos Aguas was recommended by referral, and absolutely did not disappoint. We wanted to include a day in the rainforest with this trip, and found this location extremely convenient. Local restaurant recommendations by Carla were excellent. Overall, her friendly, helpful and welcoming personality made for a warm and more than pleasant stay.
This place is just something else! My husband and I stayed for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The morning we were checking in I received a text from Karla (owner) sending me the location pin and making sure of any preferences, allergies and time she would expect us to check in. From that moment I knew this was going to be a personalized service. We arrived at night and she received us with such joy. Walked us through the property and wished us a great stay. Room was so clean and romantic, better than any hotel we've stayed. Had water to drink and local delicious chocolate. Breakfast is included and was great! She made sure we had everything we needed for our day at the beach. I have to say, we had a great weekend. It was really quiet, relaxing, Karla was just great as a host. I'm glad we stayed here and we're definitely coming back.🌿…
Dos Aguas is one of those places that you never want to leave! We came to Puerto Rico on our honeymoon and staying at Dos Aguas helped to make unforgettable memories! It’s a hidden gem in Rio Grande and makes you feel as if you’re in a different world. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and tranquil. Extremely relaxing. Carla and the rest of the Dos Aguas family are exceptional and accommodating, and I say family because that’s what it feels like! It’s close to San Juan and other popular attractions but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy attractions. If you’re looking for an experience like no other in Puerto Rico, Dos Aguas is a MUST! Can’t wait to come back! XOXO
