Now a Grade 2 listed building, the Hotel retains many of its original features, with a cosy interior and open fires. Loved the coziness of the hotel and the hotel managers were very hospitable and helpful. The only problem was the hairdryer had no plug. I would definitely recommend paying the little bit extra for the executive single as you have some room to move around the room.

We were camping down the road. Mum and Dad spent the night. Their room was clean and cosy. Our evening meal was delicious. Portions are a little modest, we all know sausage and mash is a cheap meal, why be tight with the sausages? Staff are friendly. Ideally located. We loved it.

under new ownership we are told. still a little dark inside dinning area but pleasant enough. sunday lunch was exceptional in our opinion. plenty of fresh vegetables and roast potatoes, sweet and ordinary. good service as well.

Dogs definitely seem to be allowed in restaurant- for the bedrooms you’d have to check direct with the hotel
